That Dolph does isn't credited on IMDB anymore doesn't mean much. It's been a year that the project has been listed and they usually clean up if a project has not moved forward during that time, and they also make big mistakes so just wait and see...

Good to see DON back on IMDB but the status has still not been updated I think.

Looking at the synopsis and script review on this, it looks like a missed opportunity. In all honesty, Dolph would have been miscast really- or the script would have needed to be altered somewhat. Still had DL directed it could have been good, though the other rumoured director, Robert Reed Altman (son of directing great Robert Altman) might just have been the sort of director to get a different dimension out of Dolph performance wise. Fingers crossed that this might still be on the agenda next year. Can't see it though. There's just a horrible niggling feeling, that Robert Altman Jnr, might just prove to have inherited his fathers directing talent, and Dolph could miss the boat. Of course being an Indie flick, it probably took too long to get off the ground, and Dolph has had to move on to other pastures. Damn shame though.

Yeah I was hoping this would be next, its got a great title too - I'm also really hoping Dolph will STILL direct the follow up to Diamond Dogs, Tumbling Dice. But if ICARUS goes ahead, which seems a little too good to be true, then I have to confess I'd much rather see that than Double or Nothing or Tumbling Dice just to see Dolph play a baddie once more!

from "DoN" writer Daniel Yost:
He [Dolph] optioned it, but decided not to make it and let the option expire. It is more complex than his usual action fare. My partner and I explained that this was his "Clint Eastwood" chance, an opportunity to expand his acting and make a film that had more character development and story substance. This is the reason he was originally interested, but also the reason he ultimately didn't follow through.

Dolph was in an acting class taught by my writing partner.

Hmm well, I wasn't too excited about that project anyway, could have been interesting but let's face it - it takes more than great acting to make a comeback, otherwise it would have already happened to Dolph!

I was excited about it.

I was not expecting a comeback, at least not in terms of theatrical release or huge success, but certainly more in terms of artistic ambitions with not only good acting (and unusual performance from D) but good directing and storytelling. And this had the potential to have depth, grittiness, and some kind of "in your face" subject matter (underage porn), and it was penned by a very good writer (Daniel Yost who did "Drugstore Cowboy")...
