Yet another action film from PM Entertainment Group, this time with Robert Patrick in the lead role as a avenging FBI agent .
Unfortunately, a disappointment, despite a lot of action scenes, but these are more or less uneven, and therefore the film only three apples of ten possible.

I actually own this film on DVD, and remembered it from when it first came out on rental video. I actually think it's one of the better PM movies, especially the shootout in Vegas. I liked it!

BTW, no offense, but I'm confused by your ratings system. why apples, of all things? :?

leigh1975: In my opinion PM have made much better movies, for example Rage and Riot (both starring Gary Daniels).
I´ve gotten my ratings system from a friend. It´s a bit different, that´s why I use it. You´re not the first person to ask.

last night I watched:

A Gun for Jennifer (1996)
Director: Todd Morris
Really good & brutal vigilante movie where a young woman rescued from a rape attempt by a group of militant feminists.
Eleven apples out of ten possible!
Recommended!

Bad Reputation (2005)
Director: Jim Hemphill
Independent film rape / revenge theme. Angelique Hennessy who plays Michelle (victim /avenger) is really good. Overall a really good little film.
Eight apples of ten possible.

Amateur Porn Star Killer 2 -Movie version (2008)
Director: Shane Ryan
We continue to follow the serial killer and rapist Brandon. The design and film technology is the same as in the first movie but this includes explicit sex scenes.
The first movie was a little more Creepy when the victim is manipulated and you feel how the atmosphere developed in a sinister direction, while in this the victim from the start is in on the "game of rough sex" but the game soon begins to take a nasty turn.
Im planning to see the snuff version later this week, it´s supposed to be even darker in its tone.
Seven apples of ten possible

Aeon Flux
Extremely stylish sci-fi, unbelievably beautiful colours (the Wachowskis should have watched this before making Speed Racer), over the top fight scenes, a good story. Although I always appreciate strong female leads, I thought they overdid it a bit with "Aeon and the dictator in distress". But overall a very good movie - had expected trash, got a pleasant surprise. (7/10)

Body of Lies
If you still need proof that Leo DiCaprio is a) not a baby face anymore and b) a really good actor, here's the movie for you. Ridley Scott has created another fantastic looking piece of art with an excellent story and a great cast. Greatest contemporary director. (9/10)

Interstate 60

A great movie in the vein of Back to the Future. Kurt Russel makes a funny cameo in it.

Strays

Vin Diesel's directorial debut and introduction as an actor. If I remember correctly, the budget was 47.000$. Well, they got the talent to use this money very wisely. A surprisingly good movie with an interesting story and a Diesel who shows a side of him that you wouldn't expect. Very good! (7/10)

Akira

Sorry for trashing a cult movie but we had to watch it in three shifts and weren't too impressed. I'd say 5/10 max. Oh and can someone please explain the end to me? Maybe I'm a bit slow but I didn't get it.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Took the opportunity during a short trip to The Netherlands. Didn't have the high expectations I had last year because I had already read some mixed reviews. Was still hoping for a decent movie. Left the cinema disappointed. It was an ok film but man did they waste potential. Liev Schreiber was excellent though.

*sigh*

Half Past Dead 2.

Bill Goldberg is alright, no Dolph, but he does provide some laughs.

Watched a pretty good flick called THE FIFTH COMMANDMENT starring Rick Yune, Bokeem Woodbine, and the great Keith David. Recommended to anyone he liked a lot of the John Woo-wannabe movies that popped up on VHS back in the 90's.

It's directed by Jesse Johnson who sort of made a splash in the DTV world a few years ago with PIT FIGHTER. Since then I haven't been all that fond of his movies including THE BUTCHER and the horrid ALIEN AGENT (thank goodness Dolph didn't end up doing that one). But THE FIFTH COMMANDMENT is a real improvement for him.
