That movie takes a lot of time. But I'm still interested in watching it. I was very impressed by JCVD. Hope this one comes close, quality wise.

Pfff, still no news about a release. Can't wait to see the final product.

And they've shot it more than three years ago. That's really odd. No need to make money with the final product? Or too embarrassing?

Sounds like it is a bit too personal

Principal photography occured 7 years ago actually!
(then he also reshot or rather did additional filming 3 years ago)

I'm sure VD needs to get his money back since he paid from his pocket for all of it or at least 90% of it.

The whole thing seems more complex than that but for the most part it's Van Damme hanging on his baby and re-editing, toying around with it for years especially his initital final cut got trashed when screened at the Cannes market in 2010 (I saw it and that sure wasn't releasable because just technically it looked too amateurish or clumsy at times not mentioning the oddness of the film itself). VD was keen on getting a theatrical release and distributors didn't even seem to buy it for DVD...

But the movie has now been really completed for over a year now, and screened in a Beijing or Shanghai festival last year, but from what I heard it's now entangled in some legal issues loopholes and lawsuits...

No that's not what I wanted to say (and maybe shouldn't have said anything) and I haven't seen the final 2014 cut of the film that's probably quite different (reshoots included, war flashbacks, new music etc).

What I've seen is a clumsy cinematic UFO, good and wannabe auteurish or even artsy at times but too confused (it is an action flick, a drama or a an art student film?) and ultimately clumsy like I said (and clumsy in it's naive freudian complex story as well) but ultimately it's likable in being like nothing else.

There's a more detailed (yet maybe too critical) review in the above pages, that I wrote after the Cannes screening.

No its OK! I get what you say, it needs 'direction'.

So according to JCVD, FULL LOVE will be screened at the Toronto Film Festival (in late August-early September), which seems odd since it's too early for the official selection I assume it will be at the film market for distribution sales.

It will be exactly 10 years since he shot the principal photography...

Kris Van Damme shed some lights about the status of the film (with a 2020 additional photography, and more post-production)...
