Will Dolph remain the only He-Man?
According to Latinoreview (who were the ones reviewing the Justin Marks screenplay), the project is dead at Warner Bros., but that doesn't mean another company could come in and take it over. In a way I feel better if another MOTU movie doesn't get made...

I feel better if another movie didn't get made too, the new Punishers are always getting compared to Dolph, usually putting Dolph in a bad light - Dolph IS He-man.

Really? Most people I've talked to prefer the Dolph version... as far as I can tell, the comparison made a lot of people realize just how good Lundgren really was!

Sorry I wasn't talking about people in general, I was talking about critics, movie critics, every time they hear the name Dolph Lundgren, jokes ensue at any opportunity. I hate critics to be honest, they usually have no sense of fun, always claim that a movie is 90 minutes of action with no plot...that's what it was trying to be, hasn't it succeded then, and they compare everything to the best movies and don't take into account budget...this is turning into a rant..STOP IT NATHAN!

New MOTU movie officially back into gear
http://www.variety.com/article/VR111799 ... id=13&cs=1Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver have set "Kung Fu Panda" co-director John Stevenson to make his live-action directing debut on "Masters of the Universe," a reimagining of the signature Mattel toy line.
Pic will revolve around He-Man, a prince who transforms into a warrior and becomes the last hope for a magical land being ravaged by the evil Skeletor.
Silver is producing through his Silver Pictures banner. Mattel's Barry Waldo will be exec producer.
WB acquired the property in 2007, and Justin Marks wrote the first draft of the script based on a story he developed with Neil Ellice.
The Mattel property was adapted into the 1980s cartoon series "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe."
The property was previously turned into a campy flop by Cannon Films in 1987, with Dolph Lungdren as He-Man and "Frost/Nixon" star Frank Langella as the villainous Skeletor.
The film project is a big priority for Mattel, which licenses a high-end line of He-Man toys that are popular with hardcore collectors.

Ohh boy...I knew it wouldn't be long before that got dug up again. Stop remaking movies Hollywood and think of something original. They use the word "reboot" as if what they are making is something new. Dolph for skeletor!!

Wasn't John Woo supposed to do a HeMan remake with Dolph in like early 2003? I recall reading taht in a comic mag years ago.

With Dolph, no.
John Woo supposedly was attached to it for some time (as he also was supposed to do TNMT) but if he indeed was he moved on a while ago.

Joel Silver isn't a filmmaker--he's just a damn producer. He has virtually nothing to do with the writing or directing of a movie besides promoting it during, etc.
