I'm amazed at how awesomely built Sly looks in that pic. Those tattoo's rock and so do his massive biceps--I smell quality action heroism!

I guess the latest rumored cast member is Scott Adkins:

http://www.moviehole.net/200917421-adkins-expendable

Scott Adkins, probably best known for his role in "Undisputed 2" and soon to be seen in "X-Men Origins : Wolverine" and "Ninja" (ironically, produced by NuImage - the troupe behind this ditty) is rumoured to be in talks to board the testosterone-express. He'll play Paine, according to Brazilian (the biggest chunk of the film will be shot in Brazil) website Omelete.

The site also reports that Mickey Rourke's involvement in the film will be limited to filming a couple of short scenes (as an arms dealer) in the United States.

Would be cool if Adkins is on board. Could picture a good fight scene between him and Statham.

Yeah that would be awesome because you cannot! cannot! cannot! put the world's greatest action heroes into one movie and have them all hugging each other at the end. There should be some suitable face-offs between a few of the guys. Dolph vs Li is good because of the different martial arts and heights etc. Jason vs Adkins would be indeed awesome because they both can kick pretty well and they are both around the same height/age so it would be an interesting competition. I hope Adkins is in. Seriously though, I can't wait for the first set pics and to find out who the fight choreographer is!!!

If anything, Adkins should play the role of a bad guy like in Unleashed/Danny the Dog. Any agreements?

Oh yes I agree, definately a bad guy/henchman. If they have any more people in the actual team of mercenaries I think that would be too much. I did hear that Arnie didn't COMPLETELY turn down the role of Church, the guy who hires the expendables, but someone said it's very unlikely.

Arnold should do it! That could be really cool! The guy who hires the team is genius! LOL!

I'm not so sure he WOULD do it though. California is facing some tough times right about now, and I can only IMAGINE what people would be saying if he left to ***hang out on a movie set*** while the rest of the state is in shams.

IDK, whatever. They could get Lance Henriksen, my favorite actor, to play that part. In fact, he was SUPPOSED to play the original Terminator. Bet you didn't know that huh? Believe it or not, Ahnuld, was auditioning for Reese, the role that Michael Biehn played.

Why not though, Lance Henriksen is a great actor. He'd be down to do the movie no doubt, I'm almost sure on that.

Nu Image, Pony Canyon strike multi-title distribution deal in Japan

Los Angeles-based Nu Image has struck a multi-title distribution with Japan's Pony Canyon kicking off with Sylvester Stallone's upcoming action film The Expendables starring Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li with Forest Whitaker and Mickey Rourke in talks to join the cast.

The story centres on a mercenary suicide mission to overthrow a Latin American dictator. Stallone will direct from his own screenplay and production is scheduled to kick off in February on location in Brazil and Louisiana. The deal includes Command Performance and Way Of War.

"We have come close several times but are thrilled to finally be working with Pony Canyon," Nu Image's president of international sales and distribution Christian Mercuri said. "They are obviously major players in the Japanese market so very important to the overall distribution of our films. I hope is the first of many deals with them."

Pony Canyon's executive managing director Hirofumi Ogoshi added: "We are very excited in closing our first deal with Nu Image. They understand the international market well and produce films that are both unique and commercially successful. We believe with the incredible line-up of int'l action stars The Expendables will be very successful in Japan and around the globe, and we look forward to continuing our business partnership with Nu Image."

That's great news! Especially that the deal also inclues Command Performance... that means "double impact" for Dolph. Yay!

Oh, believe me, I knew that--courtesy of T2 production notes.

Great news on Kingsley and Knepper confirming their roles! This film is going to be like the Cop Land of action films! My hopes are that Kingsley will play the main villain--like Arius in Commando. Maybe Randy Couture could play his second-in-command big guy, like Bennett in Commando and Penn in Under Siege 2.

From what I last heard Randy Couture will be an "expendable" and Scott Adkins would be the "second in command".

I'm halfway expecting Couture to get killed off early.

So, all in all, who's confirmed to this movie??? It seems like new people are added to the cast every week!

If I was like a casting director, I'd add Grace Jones to the villian female role. I saw her in Conan, and she is a badass chick! Hmm, a Dolph Lundgren/Grace Jones reunion, that would be EPIC theater!

That would be indeed one hillarious team up. Grace Jones is a little psycho though..
