FULL LOVE / THE EAGLE PATH / FRENCHY

Postby Nathan on 17 Jan 2009, 22:03

JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME fresh off the critical acclaim he received for "J.C.V.D", now is directing, writing, producing and starring in "THE EAGLE PATH" a.k.a. "FULL LOVE".
In the film he portrays "Frenchy", an emotionally lost Ex-GI turned taxi driver somewhere in South-East Asia where he crosses paths with "Sofia", played by Spanish actress (CLAUDIA BASSOLS), a woman whose mysterious life mesmerizes him drawing him into a world where he must protect her from an unhealthy relationship with high class and vicious business owner "Soli", (ADAM KARST), and maybe even herself. With the help of his Best friend, "Bobby Jackson" (JOSEF CANNON) the alcoholic, paraplegic former Military specialist. They set out on a path together, "THE EAGLE PATH" that could free them all from the self imposed prison they each find themselves in.

Of course I'll see this. It looks professional and, frankly, I'll see anything that has JCVD in it, as long as it's not Black Eagle or Derailed a 2nd time.

Black Eagle is one of those movies that EVERYONE else hates but I can watch over and over again...it's really strange that. Somebody else said that they could watch Second in Command over and over again but not many other people like it.

That might have been me at the JCVD forum--I'm a big fan of that movie, and yet I don't know why others arent.

Does anyone know when FL is supposed to come out?

Hmm well if it gets sold at Cannes I would reckon late 2009, if we're lucky.

Umm, of course I'll see it! I'm a sucker for any kind of "foreign" romance movie.

JC looks really good here doesn't he. I like that he is taking a different direction with his career, he's taking a risk doing it, but it IS his career. I'm a fan of Jean-Claude's for life, I'm 100% behind him in whatever movie he does. :P Plus this one sounds and from the pictures it looks good (although you can't be sure going by pics). 8)

I'm a supporter, of course I'll pick it up! Plus, I've been waiting for something "romantic" to come from JCVD and not just the little sex scenes that get tossed into his movies.

As much as there is a romantic plot line, I think it was already mentioned that it wasn't to be expected and categorized as a "romantic" movie. I think it's closer to an action drama that bare similarities with TAXI DRIVER.

I hope so Jox, although I really want to see the movie with a great plot, romance and great character development, I think for action fans it's important Van Damme keeps them happy also. I believe the movie has quite a few action scenes.

This looks like it has potential. I'll be sure to check up on this one from time to time.

Like The Robin said, he's taking something of a risk by taking such a different direction with his career, but who knows, it may well pay off...

I hope also that he doesn't give up the action genre. It looks like Van Damme has planned to do Bloodsport again in August but I am skeptical about this considering how many times it's been cancelled before. Either way I would like to see this. It would be nice if Dolph made a sequel at some point. I was actually looking forward to Tumbling Dice but obviously that one is out the window now. I'd like to see perhaps a sequel to The Defender or Army of One. Although I guess he's doing US-3 so that's good!!

I'm not so keen on a Defender sequel, but imagine Dolph in that red shirt from Army of One... now torn apart by the years gone by... ;-) That was an awesome movie. And that big showdown at the warehouse. Would love to see something like that again.

Sometimes I just put Army of One on to watch that shootout in the factory. That was complete brilliance. That could be done again, on a Bulgarian set, to save money. I would LOVE to see another Army of One. Every action hero must do a one man army movie.

Dolph had Army of One,
Van Damme had Hard Target,
Stallone had Rambo,
Arnie had Commando
Norris had Invasion USA.

But what would you call it? Army of One Two...
