actually, i kind of hope arnie doesnt play Church, because then that leaves the role open for Kurt Russell(who i am surprised sly hasnt asked yet)

heres the latest from slys publicist from the nytimes on his actual role

but from the expendables publicist says he will play himself...

personally, id like to see arnie play a general, maybe stallones old commander whom he goes to see to talk strategy or something...have sly walk in to arnie in camo chomping on a cigar...

Why does it say at imdb that the expendables are filming, is it really, if it is that means dolph will do expendables first and then Icarus.

It's probably a false update. As far as I know it starts at the end of the month. But in any case they start shooting in Brazil for one month and then two months in Louisiana. Dolph is gonna join them in Louisiana in May right after he's done filming ICARUS (which starts the 23rd).

I thought they will start in late summer. But its cool that they start filming so soon. I hope they wont delay it.

Dolph is currently on the set of "Icarus". As Jox said, "The Expendables" will start shooting later this month.

I hope this means that Dolphs role got beefed up if sly did a major re-write...I figured he did since B.W. Monroe whom was a woman in the first draft is now Eric Roberts...

So if that's true I wonder if that confirms the fact that Randy Couture isn't one of the mercs, but is instead one of the henchmen. Still not quite sure which side of the fence his character is supposed to be on. Sorta hoping he's just a henchman-type so that seems suited to his strengths.

I hope pumped up a little too, but how much weight could he have put on? He´s been pretty busy since he landed the part, and it wasn´t even very long ago. Still i hope he did. I think that´s what mainstream moviegoers would like to see. (and me too)

Dolph? Yeah I hope he pumps up a lot, he has to look good next to the other action heroes but he's went from CP to US-3 to Icarus and then to The Expendables. He can't have much time.

However busy he is, he always takes the time to train every morning, I don't know if he changed his training routine to beef up but when he was in Bulgaria he said he was training really hard these days...

Well that's good to know.. I hope that he gains a few extra pounds of muscle for TE because Stallone looks great. Okay, he's got loads of veins but he looks like a old bad ass beaten war veteran...

Absolutely. I´m sure he always works out hard. He´s always in shape. But he has been on more of a fitness type regimen for many years.
Maximizing muscle mass is another thing altogether. Different kind of work out, diet etc, and it takes time and dedication. And I´m guessing that DL wouldn´t want to take short cuts with Human Growth Hormone like Stallone (admittedly) does, so, at his age, it wouldn´t be that easy. But if anyone could it would probably be Dolph "fckng" Lundgren!

He certainly must know about all that like an expert now. Remember that he found how to build muscle mass for ROCKY IV and although he was an athlete he didn't know all that much about bodybuilding at the time, he once said he read magazines and asks a few people to find the right training/regimen that he adapted with time and experience, changed a bit for MOTU etc...

I would assume Dolph is hitting the gym hard.....plus, he wont be on set until May in louisiana leaving abit more time to get into tip top shape than say Stallone and Statham whom will be on set in Brazil in a couple of weeks...
