Ok, I admit that Tia and Kristian (didn't anybody tell her that that's a guy's name?) were eye candy. Alfonso was more bearable for women to watch because she wasn't the *total* Damsel in Distress. The worst way to portray a woman is like Erika Eleniak in Under Siege and Goldie Hawn in Bird on a Wire. Screaming hysterically at every occassion and being totally idiotic and helpless. *sigh* I prefer the Ripley / Sarah Connor type. It's a matter of taste but I think Linda Hamilton was total eye candy in T2.

So yeah, add female eye candy to the male hunnybunnies but let the gal kick ass, too. Like Pam Anderson in Barb Wire. Liked that one. ;-)

Mosquito you must have been a guy in previous life, I'm sure lots of women today have different opinions! :D

EDIT: your comments about gratuitous nudity are pretty hilarious especially considering you don't strike as the kind of person who would defend it, or who even digs badass old-school action movies that are mainly targeted at men...

I´ll take a wild guess that this comment is aimed at Mosquito and not me. (after all, I´ve been an outspoken chauvinist pig since 1978) ( )

"previous" life? I´d say she´s about half and half in this life! Just saving up for that operation, huh, Mosquito? (I´m only joking)

LOL, OMG Dolphage!

Well, I'd LOVE to have a movie with only the guys going in getting sweaty and taking their shirts off. A "total sauage fest" is what I'm hoping for.
And I hope the female isn't the "damsel in distress" and especially like Goldie Hawn in Bird on a Wire. UGH, so helpless! This girl had better be able to kick some serious ass! They need to cast me!

I'd LOVE to see Vinnie Jones cast in this too. He surely makes one diabolical bad guy.

And speaking of Vinnie Jones, did anyone catch a look at his bar fight video? He got a glass smashed over his head and was really bloody and everything. This guy takes his movie scenes to the real world, he has to be in the Expendables!
RIP Charles "Mask" Lewis! TapouT will never be the same.

We have a release date!

And I´d love for Vinne Jones to be in it. He and Statham could do some "English Hard Man" stuff against eachother... "You ´fink you´re ´ard, or somink, mate?" (then Dolph walks in and uses one of them to beat the other one with)

I did see Vinnie´s bar fight video. Getting "glassed" sucks (I know from experience), but the fight itself wasn´t that intense. They got seperated immediately. Seems like a tough guy though.

This is gonna be a movie worth going to the cinema for!

Any news in how many days Dolph will be involved in this movie, US3 was 5 days and i'm guessing that The Expendables will probably be only 10 days because there are to many big name characters to cover through out the entire movie.

I don't know it yet.

But also keep in mind that this is a much bigger scale than UNISOL III, what could be shot in a day could take a week on Sly's movie. But it's not like they have to film one character at a time, the cast doesn't mean much in that sense, it depends of so many factors that would be the same with unknowns!

From AICN
Ghost Dog is out of THE EXPENDABLES sadly...
Hey folks, Harry here - with a tad of a bummer regarding THE EXPENDABLES. Due to start delays which has put the shooting of THE EXPENDABLES back a month later than was initially thought... Forest Whitaker has had to pull out due to conflicts with prior engagements now. Dammit! I was really looking forward to Idi Amin getting in on this total fucking destruction. Anyway - it isn't all gloom and doom. Because at the same time I heard this bit of bummer, I heard that Sly has also recast the role with 50 CENT! I'm not real sure how that bodes as I haven't really formed any opinions on 50 Cent aka Curtis Jackson, but I am passing along the info for all of you!

From Sylvester Stallone to Stallonezone.com
Dear Craig,

I appreciate the incredible amount of work you've done on my behalf. Please tell the loyal followers to be positive not negative in their feedback. I am not self-destructive. The anger of the casting of 50 Cent is understandable, but not fair. A player is only as good as his coach. If a man can communicate in one medium, he can communicate in another if his strengths are brought out and he has the support of well-wishers. So, trust me, the change of Forest Whitaker to 50 Cent AKA Curtis Jackson is a good one. No one thought Dolph Lundgren was a good choice for ROCKY or Mr. T. for Rocky III. Carl Weathers was an afterthought when Ken Norton fell out. The same with Talia Shire and Richard Crenna (who was known as a comedic actor, not a serious
one).

Nobody wanted Eric Roberts over Ben Kingsley, but I believe it's a vastly improved casting. The point is, you either believe in me and the project, setting your personal feelings aside, or you take a darker approach, which really serves no purpose since your insight and suggestions and overall enthusiasm are a great thrill for me to behold everyday I sign on.

Signing off -

Your friend,
Sly

Hey SZoners,

Here's the latest from Sly:

I know that many people on the site have asked for Kurt Russell. I asked for him too. Actually, I was taken aback when asked to put the request in a letter and send it to his agent. Subsequently, I was called back by the agent several days later after refusing to send a letter and he said Kurt Russell is not interested in 'ensemble acting' at this time.

So, People, I came, I saw, I failed.

Best,
Sly

Surprising news about Kurt Russell there. Not so much that he'd decline but in the manner in which he did. You'd think he'd be more than willing to let Sly know 1-on-1.

I'm still bummed about 50 Cent being on board instead of Whitaker but Sly's thoughtful words have calmed me down a bit. I'm just a big fan of Whitaker and felt he added a lot of personality to the cast.

It is amazing how greedy I get about this stuff. If you had told me 6 months ago that Dolph would be on the big screen again in any movie I'd have been ecstatic. Now today I'm slightly disappointed that he'll be in a film on the big screen with "only" Sly, Statham, Jet Li, and Mickey Rourke. Weird how that works.

I was thinking the same thing!
BTW, I didn´t know Sly was THAT in touch with his fan club. Impressive!

Apparently that's the first time he addressed himself directly to his fans, but it was known that he was checking the board.

It's sad that Forest leave the cast, but wht were the people so angry about curtis jackson ? stallone choose him to replace forest, not in first place. and if it's an actor problem, i've nothing to say because i've never seen jackson in a movie.

Because it's replacing an academy award winner actor by a rapper and rappers are usually most annoying in films

Here's some words from Sly again that he sent to AICN
Dear Harry,

Below is a letter that I sent to the Stallone Zone that I had also wanted to
send to you because I have the same loyalty to your site as well. Anyway, it
might temper preconceived opinions.

Thank you and best,
Sly

P.S. Also, for clarification:
Hale Caesar is Curtis Jackson
Toll Road (new character) is Randy Couture
Monroe is Eric Roberts
Tool (an ex-Expendable) is Mickey Rourke
Bao is Jet Li
Lee Christmas is Jason Statham
Lacy is Charisma Carpenter
Sandra is Giselle Itie (famous Brazilian actress)
And
Barney 'the schizo' Ross is Yours Truly.

P.S.S. By the way, there's enough testosterone and ego in this film to float
a large continent covered in elephants, but I'm enjoying it.

He left out Dolph but don't worry he's still in it!
