It´s not a GOOD DL movie (it´s pretty so-so) but it´s DEFINATELY NOT one of his "five worst". I don´t know why I disliked it so much the first two times I saw it. Strange.

Well sometimes it takes 1, 2 or 3 times watching the same movie, to start liking it even more, when i first saw stormcatcher i gave it a 4/10 then last week i saw it on my dvd again and i was like damm this movie isn't that bad, i actually liked it and now give it 6/10. :)

Agent Red is definatelly is worst movie, bad actors, stealing movie clips from other movies, the action is boring and so on, other movies that i think is poor is Cover Up, the last patrol, and jill rips.

Really ?
Dolph does a great performance in this one, with an interesting character (whereas the story is quite nebulous)

The problem is not Dolph it's the plot, the actors bad acting, the director has no clue what he is directing and there is alot of stolen footage from other movies.

I still ask miself, how in the hell did so many terrorrists managed to enter the heavilly watched submarine, they are wearing these suits while the american crew aren't, so many mistakes in this movie, the only thing that made me wacth this movie more than once is Dolph.

I think Reznik was talking about JILL RIPS not AGENT RED!

Indeed.

And I don´t think Jill Rips is one of his worst movies either. It´s quite comperable to Sweepers in a lot of ways. Aims pretty high, looks nice enough, but it´s to slow for an action movie and not clever enough for a thriller.

That's it.
I was asking myself (very hard) about some terrorists and submarine in Jill Rips !

I agree. Something, in a sense or in other one, is missing.

Jill Rips was never an action movie to begin with. If anything it has elements of thriller, but overall it's a drama. As time goes on, it doesn't seem as bad as I originally thought, and it's Dolph's strongest performance.

I think JILL RIPS has its flaws (actually more so when it actually brings "action" elements like the couple of quick fights or the "mad limo driving") but I consider it a nice artsy little gem. And if not one of Dolph's best films one of his BEST ACTING PERFORMANCE on par with UNIVERSAL SOLDIER and JOHNNY MNEMONIC or even THE INQUIRY. Maybe I read too much into it and just see what I want to see but I want to give props to this film and Dolph's boldness for making it.

Tom Berenger was suposed to star in it and they would have made a different movie out of the script then. Plus whenever DL signs on, more fights and chase sequences get written in, to appease his fan base.

Somewhere along the line a great movie got lost.

I remember him doing an interview for Swedish television during pre-production and he was excited about it. He said: " It´s a really good script, unlike most of my movies", wich was pretty cool.

If you read the original novel by Frederic Lindsay it's pretty different. From HIckox saying lots of adjustments have been made in filming yet nobody wanted to betray the script that everybody thought was really good. I have an early version of the script and it is pretty close from the film.

Nice, I didn't know about this one and never heard much from him about this film except on his previous official site. But I know from Hickox and even Christopher Kulikowski, that he invested himself hard on this project which obviously was a challenge and something different from anything he's done before.

The Last Warrior is his worst.

Also, The Minion, Detention, and Missionary Man.

Would anybody consider Direct Contact to be in the category of his worst films by any chance? As far as I'm concerned, this just goes to show that while the stills from the DP may look like the best thing since Commando, it can still be shit on toast.

I could not put Direct Contact on that list. The films I mentioned are vastly inferior...although I am sure I am missing a few others.

Detention is awesome! What the hell are you on about?
Missionary Man I'm not too keen on though.

In terms of script and acting and editing, Direct Contact is one of his worst. However because it packs in so much action and has a bit of 80's style cheese, it kind of gets by, where films like Agent Red, Stormcatcher, Retrograde, Diamond Dogs and Last Patrol don't.
