Might possibly be the only Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson movie I can handle or really enjoy.

;)

But when was the last time he did a movie that didn't rely on the same old 'gosh! gee! wow!' schtick of Owen Wilson playing Owen Wilson? I keep hoping he'll do some more of the movies he did when he started out in movies like 'Bottle Rocket' and 'Tenanbaums' but I guess they don't pay nearly as well as 'Night at the Museum 3 : Rise of the Card Index'.

AICN Interview

Postby Moltisanti on 03 Jun 2009, 06:40

Jox must be enjoying dreamland. Rise and shine!

A lot of familiar territory that has been covered in the other recent interviews, but still worth checking out.

That's a great interview, very nice well asked questions, now we know a clue about one of his next projects which sounds interesting.

Also i like how he talked about mythical story of vikings going on a journey how he relates it to expendables, maybe Dolph is thinkin of doing some kinda of viking movie :D

A Viking story would be cool (I said so ages ago - I'm glad to see he's taking my advice, we'll negotiate rates later), but I think he's saying that there are only so many stories - it's just the settings that change. Unless it's a Matthew MacConaughey romantic comedy in which case NOTHING changes ;)

Oh I got mine last year for MM, another one about his karate career for Combat mag that was never published so I was actually wondering what to do with it, and a third one earlier this year which fate is also uncertain. Don't worry I've got a few things in mind, there's just priorities to take care of first but you reminded me sometimes I tend to forget about that when I'm in touch with him so I leave this stuff (interviews and such) to others and focus on talking what things we have pending and in the work... DC might also not be my most wanted topic for an interview, later though after it's been out for sure

Any chance you would be willing to pitch a question and answer session with Big D for the forum users? If we post questions here, you check them for coherence / sanity / libel and then mail them on for him to reply to. If we could get away from the usual 'so tell us about your childhood' questions and to the important world-changing ones like 'Mac or PC?' that'd be very cool, I realise it'd be a lot of work for you and the big guy, but it'd be kudos as well as the ever-lasting gratitude of the forum users.

You're gonna ask him to marry you again, aren´t you? NO MEANS NO, Mike!

But, seriously, that´s a great idea. In fact, I beleive, some of our questions automatically popped up last time Big D granted Jox an interview. It was kind of impromptu, so Jox had to get ready for the interview quickly, as I recall.

P.S I really shouldn´t use words I don´t know what they mean, like: "Impromptu", but I can´t help myself.

Oh yeah it's been on my mind and I'm pretty sure I mentioned it to him. Right now it's not in our priority list (i.e. official site and such) but it's definitely among other things in the back of my mind for the future. He's definitely open to such ideas and as you must already know it Dolph only wants to please his fans  So in some form or another (forum, Q&A, live chat) it should happen someday.
