No, it's just a guy who happens to look exactly like Dolph's character in the movie, right down to his tatoos, dirt and sweat stains. He wandered on to the set one day and Dolph was like: "Dude, you look JUST like me, let's take a picture together!". :|

Yes, it's his stunt double.

Oh well, he's clearly shorter than Dolph and it seems from the photos that he's slimmer, too. I know that the face hasn't look to look the same but the statue should. Guess that he's close enough.

I remember Dolph always used to say it's very hard to find stunt doubles stature and size.

I didn't write that, Mosquito did. But its's still true :)

And I would imagine it really WOULD be difficult. Not only for size reasons but also, check out the difference in head size. DL has got a massive, square head. The jawline gives it away most of the time...

Wade Eastwood used to be Dolph's (and other tall guys) stunt double a few years ago, is that him in the pictures?

evegotbet, of course you had no idea that guy was Dolph stunt double from looking at the pictures. :D That makes perfect sense to me, but I didn't expect it from the mighty morphin' "Mosque".
Spring, era jävlar!

sorry i got mixed up with the quotes ;)

He does. To me that's almost the most impressive about him, whenever he's standing or sitting in front of me, it always feels like "wow I'm talking to a giant Dolph Lundgren!" (not mentioning I had seen this face on the small screen and pictures for years, so the life size version looks all the more surreal and standing out from everybody else around!

Wade Eastwood used to be Dolph's (and other tall guys) stunt double a few years ago, is that him in the pictures?
No it's not him, I don't think they've worked together for years (since THE LAST PATROL?). I think this guy is Irish and he's a boxer and MMA fighter, really nice, they formed a nice gang with Dolph and Gary, even Randy Couture.

New pics from the set of Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables”, featuring Dolph Lundgren all bloodied up, but gracious enough to take pictures with a variety of dudes and short Asian girls. We wishes we hold up half this good when we hit the big 5-0. Likewise with Stallone, although Stallone looks a little weird to me. Anyways, the testosterone fest known as “The Expendables” is scheduled for 2010. In the film, Lundgren plays Gunnar Jensen. Stallone writes and directs.

The reason behind the teaser at the Venice festival is that Sly will receive an honorary award (which is a rare treatment because Venice is generally known to be rooting auteur and art-house cinema)

Venice to honor Sylvester Stallone
Actor-director to receive Jaeger-LeCoultre award

By MICHAEL DAY

MILAN -- Sylvester Stallone is to be awarded the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award at this year's Venice Film Festival.
The prize, which is "dedicated to an artist who has left his mark on contemporary cinema," has previously gone to auteurs Takeshi Kitano, Agnes Varda and Abbas Kiarostami.

In a statement, the event's organizers said: "Through all of his movies -- even the ones he has not directed or are considered 'less important' -- Stallone has shaped his own character with much care, and reflected upon it, giving us an iconic exploration among the most coherent and lucid of contemporary America cinema.

"Stallone has shown an original eye and an auteur's determination. His is a cinema capable of tenderness even when dripping with blood."

During the presentation of the award, there will be a sneak preview of some sequences from "The Expendables," the new film written and directed by, and starring Stallone, and also featuring Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke.

The Venice Film Festival runs Sept. 2-12.

Here's a video mainly focusing on Randy Couture and his upcoming UFC fight against on EXPENDABLES co-star, but you also get a quick look at Lundgren decked out in black with the rest of the team at the 00:16 mark:

Really dig Dolph's attire in that shot. Plus the clips of Couture throwing people around look solid. I'm betting Sly does a good job of letting all the cast get some sweet moments to shine.

It's great to see all of them decked out in tactical gear--nice find!

One thing that came across my mind is that if this DOES become pg-13, like we all hope it won't, that means that whenever Sly pulls out a machine gun and starts mowing down the bad guys, he'll be putting only like 2 rounds in each of them followed by weak impact squibs and it won't look right at all.
