Eden Lake
Oh my, I don't know how to rate this movie. I've watched it only because I was quite impressed with Michael Fassbender's performance in Inglorious Basterds. Had heard about Eden Lake a few couple of months ago and discarded it because I knew the violence was too realistic for my taste. Give me hectolitres of fake blood and torture galore and I'll love it - as long as it's clear that it's BS like in Quentin Tarantino's or Peter Jackson's movies.
So after much consideration and hesitation I watched this one just because I was curious, and now I have a bad feeling in my chest. Some people said that after the movie they wanted to kill the main character. I wanted to blow up the whole town because obviously the kids were just the little versions of their parents. And to complete that feeling, I checked today's news and read about a public march in Munich for civil bravery. It was for a man who was recently beaten to death in a public transport station because he protected a few kids against two violent 17 and 18 year old drug addicts who wanted to extort money. Good addendum to that movie, which is a perfect example for the fact that it takes only one evil person and a few cowardly followers to cause endless terror.
*sigh*
So yeah, excellent actors/actresses all over the movie, but I know why I stay away from realistic violence and drama. I was consindering to watch "Hunger", too, but that's definitely off my list now. I guess. At least for the near future. Ahem.
*sigh*
I'll rather watch The Tournament. Nothing dangerous there.
...
Now I'm still so upset, how am I supposed to sleep?
