Charisma Carpenter talks about THE EXPENDABLES and seems to have a crush on Dolph

Silly question: Did she start out as a porn star or where does that name come from? I hope it's not her real name. If it is: what did the parents smoke?

Hahahaha, interesting thought. I think it's a pretty awesome name!! I read somewhere else that Jet Li always hangs around with "his people" on set.

She's from Southern California. In that part of the World, Charisma is mainstream. As for smoking something - again, she's from Southern California ;)

How do we get tickets to be a part of it?

I have no idea, except that from my LA experience you have to be there at the right place right time for someone to pick you, give you the info and then you go and wait in line for while and it's first arrived first served... And with this one they might not give you the title, they might say it's for a surprise or untitled film...

Yeah, usually they give away tickets for these things on Hollywood Blvd or Third Street Promenade.

There were casting for body doubles for Dolph and the other actors recently for the posters. I was considered for Randy Couture's body double.

Two reviews on AICN based on the test-screening version (sure a lot, like the score score, was still temporary), one negative (but you can see how the guys is overly critical), the other, positive, is exactly what we expect

Funny how the many complaints in the first AICN review all sounds like positives to me. I mean, The Expendables is supposed to be a violent, cheezy and over-the-top action bloockbuster like the ones from the 80s and 90s, and essentially the ultimate "manly" movie. Which is exactly what it's shaping up to be, thanks to the genius that is Sly Stallone :D Hopefully they'll be more reviews coming in, with more impressions on Dolph and his character, though I think one reviewer mentioned he was "good", so that's promising. :)

Oh and I'm new here, plus I'm swedish, so pardon any spelling or posting mistakes, haven't posted in an Internet forum for years ...

Welcome MFS, good to have you here!!! And you're absolutely right!

Now here what the publicist says:
Now that I’ve seen The Expendables…
February 10, 2010 by ethelmae
so I went to the “test” screening last night way the hell out in the Valley. When I arrived the line was out the door and around the building. I was a little surprised that everyone in line knew they were seeing The Expendables. Usually when a studio does a screening of this nature they keep the name of the film under wraps until the movie goers are in the theater..but then again quite a few had no clue as to what The Expendables was so it didn’t really matter. There would be a focus group of approximately 30 movie-goers immediately following the screening so the film makers could get an idea of what did or didn’t “play”…I was stoked.

I found Sly, looking calm and collected, and asked him how he felt about having an audience finally see the film. He said he felt really good about the film in it’s current form, which according to him “is about 85% there.” He was still tweaking the music and a few little things here and there but basically what we were about to see is what the world will see in August…unless of course something hideous happens but I am not going there as I am in my happy place…

so what did I love about the movie…

THE ACTION IS C R A Z Y!!!

Mickey Rourke steals every scene he is in

Sly and Jason Statham create an on screen chemistry we haven’t seen in many a moon

Dolph Lundgren is freakin awesome

The scene with Sly, Bruce and Arnold just freakin killed me…and Bruce is scarily hard ass

Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Terry Crews, Giselle Itie, Steve Austin, Gary Daniels all have pretty freakin cool moments…the film kicks ass, makes you laugh, has heart AND a decapitation…need I say more??

PS…Sly dropped a bomb on me which took me by surprise…it’s gonna surprise you too…

Sly's take on the test screening:

Unfortunately we hear about the one line that he yelled Dolph at for that is gonna be cut.

Thank you very much, glad to be here!

Too bad about the cutting of Dolphs line, but excited to hear that Ethelmae thought he was "freakin awesome." His character is definetly the one I'm most looking forward to seeing in The Expendables, it's just something about a crazy swedish mercenary with drugproblems, hanging pirates and going up against Jet Li that sounds so very, very badass

I can't wait for this movie. It's the only movie in 2010(besides Dolphs own movies of course) that I am actually excited to see. I havn't been that way for a movie in a long time. I don't care if people say the plot is lacking or it's cheesy or the acting isn't oscar worthy I know i'll have a blast.

As long as "Hot soup!" BLAM! is still in the movie, I'm happy.
