I'd like to hear what you think mate, as long as it doesn't contain spoilers I'm sure nobody would object to a short review!!

We have very few release dates so far, apart from last month Canadian cable premiere, this Swiss release and March 30th German release... But my guess is more shall start coming our way hopefully!

HMH updated their cover with the CP and review taglines and the 'uncut' mention:

Gotta admit, these German Icarus covers are really classy. I'm quite pumped for this release after my CP dvd came in yesterday. I just decided to buy the US bullshit release rather than wait til 2045 when it comes out in the UK.

Bad news about the German/Swiss edition: it's not in the correct cinemascope 2.35 aspect ratio but in 1.78.

Good news, ICARUS will be released in France May 6th (rental) and June 1st (retail) (DVD & Blu-ray, and it should be 2.35 8)

That looks cool. I can even forgive that awful cgi explosion. It looks kick ass though.

Stephen Chang (RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD II) briefly mentions working with Dolph on ICARUS (at 07:40 but you can also hear about the Rambo trivia he has to tell)

Damn!! That trailer was hot shit!! Dolph looks really mean and grizzled, one of the shots just before Bo Svenson enters he actually looked like a bad guy. The wrinkles on his face have given him a very good look for this movie. Really impressed with the trailer, bad ass!! That's one thing about Dolph's most recent movie trailers, they have been pretty well made.

Liked you review Jox, I'm glad you didn't say too much about the plot etc because I always end up reading spoilers before seeing a movie and this time I'm determined not too. I'm hoping there is a US release date soon. It was interesting that first of all Dolph was to play a bad guy, which most of us knew from previous news and that the producers re-cut it. In all honesty even though I haven't seen the movie I feel I can say that Dolph's cut would likely have been better, however judging by the trailer this looks good. Even my Dad looked at it and questioned what type of release it was being given. It looks slick.

I would have liked to see Dolph play the bad guy again but I'm hoping that one of these days he does and the producers let him do a starring role as a bad guy. He is certainly a menacing character and if any of whats been heard so far his performance in The Expendables is top notch, you'd think they'd have more faith in letting him play the bad guy since that's what brought him success in the first place.

We find out in the making of ICARUS that fellow Swede nemesis Bo Svenson (recently seen in INGLORIOUS BASTERDS) actually met and considered Dolph for one of his movies 20 or 25 years ago.

I just read your review, and you say that Dolph had little time to edit the film and that producers ultimately take the film away to re-cut it...and you also say that Lundgren's version was taking more time to set up an atmosphere and a mood with a bold use of camera moves, longer takes and tracking shots...so, my question is...is there any possibility that in the future Dolph's version is released...officially or unofficially (like Punisher)??

I highly doubt it, unfortunately, but who knows... maybe in 20 years?
