I'm seeing it this friday. See how it holds up on 2nd viewing. Still awesome I bet!
If you want a true, R-rated action flashback, this is the film you’ve been waiting for. It’s an almost perfect action throw back that I can’t wait to see again. If you a guy (or cool gal) that likes action flicks, it’s your DUTY to see this opening weekend. I’ll be going again- because there no way in hell Sly ain’t getting my ten bucks.
"We were talking the other day in L.A. and I said to him, 'Look Sly, people are excited about this movie, a lot of people who wouldn't talk to me a month ago would say, 'Hey Dolph, I'm really excited about your movie, congratulations,' " Lundgren says from a rooftop patio during a promotional stop in Toronto.
"And he's like, 'Yeah, I remember. I was the fourth lead in "Spy Kids 3" opening in Austin.' He said, '(I thought) that's the end, it's over.' "
"You have to create your own destiny to some extent," says Lundgren, who's also turned to directing in recent years.
"But I think in this case it was the right time because now we've gone through the whole cycle where even the people who said, 'Oh, that guy is a loser, he's gotten old,' (are now saying) 'Yeah, it's kind of cool, he's still around. Yeah, I want to see him on film again.' So that's where we are now, I guess."
Dolph Lundgren: Easily my favourite character. He plays a completely whacked-out, drug-addled nutcase that’s obsessed with guns and hurting people. He provides the film’s best kill (within the first 10 minutes) and also the film’s funniest moment
Dolph Lundgren, as a junkie turncoat, is roughly magnetic
