Basically, Dolph confirms he wants to shoot SKIN TRADE in Montreal because he's shot there before, likes it a lot and is great place for locations plus tax incentives, but he's been developing the project for five years now but now he's taking the time to find the good cast. He'd like it to go beyond a DVD release so without trying to imitate Sly he's looking for a high-caliber lead and he will only have a co-starring role.

Dolph should take his time on picking a good cast and locations, Silent Trigger was shot in Quebec if i'm not mistaken,, which i liked very much.

Parts of it shall be filmed in Australia thanks to Aussie cinematographer Marc Windon and his newly founded Filmmakers Factory

Jox u said Dolph wanted a well known co-star to start along side him in Skin Trade, is he like an Action Star maybe someone like Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White or other action stars?

No I think now he wants somebody who's has more popularity, who's a bigger star and more bankable than him, that's the whole point to make the project bigger, so that people, financiers and distributors, take it more seriously. But we'll see what happens, there can be a fine line between what he wants and what he'll get or settle for...

(just remembered driving in the van to the EXPENDABLES set, it was the next day after Michael Jackson died, and D was in the front passenger seat and turned up the volume when an MJ song came up on the radio, "drumming" the beats)

Thanks for posting that little tidbit about Dolph's taste in music :D

No, when Dolph mentioned it (in one article, so that'd even have to be verified) it was only informal early talk so it didn't mean it was serious yet...

The more I think about this, the more skeptical I am about Seagal being involved in it. What's he gonna bring to the movie apart from his name? His acting is mostly total shit nowadays, (it always was but as with most actors he has a couple of standout performances, none from the last ten years,) he's overweight and doesn't look like an action star, he's difficult on set and any fight Lundgren sets up between himself and Seagal would most likely end up with Seagal taking zero hits, if he gets his own way. I can't suggest any alternatives, at least feasible ones, Wesley Snipes is eating jail food, Van Damme would be a total cliche and I think Jason Statham is a little above Dolph's criteria unfortunately, unless Stath played lead, Dolph was the main villain with lots of screentime and someone like Lionsgate were at the helm.

I don't think Seagal fits the spirit of the projects anyway, which seems to be a gritty, hardcore and serious "drama cop thriller". Dolph is actually looking for a lead, and I like you said Statham would be a little above but he could fit. Since they spent some time for European promo I don't know if Dolph even dared mention it to Statham but he should have (although of course someone like Statham is likely to already be committed to something when SKIN TRADE is supposed to be in production.
