MFS wrote:$16.5 million for the second weekend, a bit less than originally projected, but still just a -52% drop, which is excellent! And The Expendables remains the Nr. 1 movie in America. :) http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/ ... =34&p=.htm

The film opened at No. 1 in the U.K. with a four-day tally of about $5.8 million [£3.7 million] since Thursday.

'Expendables' takes on 'Inception' for top spot worldwide
With Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables hitting number one in the UK and France this weekend, it is giving Inception some serious competition for the top position at the international box office.

It should hit around the 100 mark in the US, give or take. I figure by the end of next weekend it'll be comfortably over 80 million domestically.

Good opening in the UK too. I really hope Sly gets going with the sequal quickly, and they can start it early next year.

And it's having an extremely good run in China, according to the "experts" on this forum:
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/forums/vie ... ff265ac0c6
They say it has had "the best opening for a Hollywood film in China since Avatar. AIW (Alice in Wonderland) was the previous best with 67m followed by IM2 (Iron Man 2) with 60m." 8)

Just saw it. Had to post.

For me, the movie of the year. A true action film. I love the modern Bourne-style action films but the excess and carnage of The Expendables is definitely my preference.

Dolph is the standout in the ensemble. I would liked to have seen a little more of Dolph and a little less of Mickey Rourke. Why no Dolph in the final battle? Hopefully in the sequel...

Dolph kicking some serious ass in the climax is indeed really missing, even in the opening I'm sure Sly had footage to show him kill a few more pirates...

Just got a message from Mark Goldblatt, THE PUNISHER director himself, saying
"Hi J. -- Just want to say that Dolph is AMAZING in The Expendables."

Awesome movie :D

SPOILERS AHEAD

And Dolph was great in it, but it's a shame he wasn't in the final battle. It was also kind of weird to see him back in the team at the end, but...hell..I am glad he's back, so he can be in the sequel :) It was easily one of the best movies with Dolph I've ever seen if not the best one, and it was also one of the best action movies I've ever seen.
