Yeah and I think I would have been more positive and open about the project if it was another time. But I always thought that what he does after THE EXPENDABLES would be crucial because people would wait for him at the turning point, if he'd follow up a good project or directorial effort they could be more intrigued and he could have a good buzz going, but with this no matter how good or bad the movie ends up to be, most people will only dismiss the film and Dolph like "ok he's back doing DTV crap and still can't make career choices"...

I really hope Dolph was paid handsomely because there is no way this won't suck. Was this really the best offer he had after TE? That really baffles me because Gunner is the most memorable character. Dolph was hands down the most interesting part of the movie. Randy Couture was utter shit and he gets a movie with Bruce Willis. WT? Jox, do you think Dolph will promote this or will this be another 'Direct Contact'?

BTW: Jox, we miss you over at the Van Damme forum and are anxiously waiting your triumphant return! 8)

I'm pretty sure that ITNOK2 will receive zero promotion, especially at the hands of Dolph... This film was a paycheck, and it must have been a pretty fat one. I, like all of us, was hoping that after the success of THE EXPENDABLES, Dolph was going to align himself with a good project that had hopes. If anything, one that he'd direct. Alas, no. 2010 was without a doubt the year of Dolph. To be honest, I never really saw a comeback like this coming, but man, did it come full force and hard. Unfrotunately, ITNOK2 has the stench of being more dtv crap that we all hoped was behind Dolph... AGENT RED, DIRECT CONTACT, RETROGRADE, etc... Films all done for a quick paycheck. I'm not saying ITNOK2 won't be good, but it doesn't really have a whole lot going for it.

Dolph really should have waited for something else, gotten the financing for SKIN TRADE, and started on that. But this project almost seems like an insult... After all the years of hoping for a comeback, it arrives, and we're left with this. Of course, we can't get too mad... In 2001 Steven Seagal had a notable comeback when EXIT WOUNDS came to theatres and proved to be successful. He was on talk shows, etc. talking about his revitalized career. Unfortunately, it quickly went down the toilet, and he continued making four dtv pictures a year for Sony. Each one of poorer quality.

I was under the impression that Dolph was going to try to alternate between his low-budget starring roles and supporting roles in big studio movies (sort of like what Michael Madsen does).

Just looking at movies coming out this year, regardless of whether they're even any good or not, but how cool would it have been to see Dolph in a supporting role for The Mechanic, The Eagle, Drive Angry, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rise of the Apes (he could've been an ape!) or Sucker Punch?

I hold little hope that this will be any good but I still don't blame Lundgren much for taking the role. We all would have loved for THE EXPENDABLES to come out and catapult Lundgren to the front of every casting agents' rolodex in Hollywood. Sadly, that didn't happen. So instead he gets an offer to do this which was likely a decent paycheck for 3 weeks work at the end of the year. Eh, it's a living.

I would love it if he could get cracking on SKIN TRADE right away but it's obvious that there are problems in getting the money together. Was hoping there might be some pre-sell news on that one with the European Film Market going on but I wouldn't count on it. It has little to do with Lundgren or the film itself but is more a victim of the ever-shrinking DTV market. DVD's slow death is slamming the door shut not just on Lundgren but all the action stalwarts who were cranking out movies left and right just 5 years ago. Look at Nu Image, they used to have a steady flow of DTV action titles on the horizon but they seem to have fazed that out as they move on with more theatrical films.

Seems like the only DTV titles that the studios are interested in now are DTV sequels. DEATH RACE 2, IN THE NAME OF THE KING 2, SWAT 2, STREET KINGS 2, NEVER BACK DOWN 2. Makes it easy to understand why Van Damme is looking to get DOUBLE IMPACT 2 off the ground.

I totally understand why he accepted the role, but I wish he would have held off for a while. I wonder how much he was paid? Also, Uwe also produces films. Maybe he's trying to get him to help with the financing of 'Skin Trade'? Who knows...

I'm sure he did the movie to help finance "Skin Trade" and let's not forget he has his family(wife and two daughters) to support! Plus, I think he likes to keep busy. It should be interesting to see how the movie turns out regardless.

Natalie is yummy :D i just wanted to let everybody know that Dolph's name had a glorified cameo in the the movie Just Go With It... with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, his name is used several times in the movie, i have a question does Dolph gets paid for someone to use his name in movies??

I know this is off topic but i wasn't sure if it would be appropriate to start a thread reagarding my news :|

You should start a thread about "Just Go With It" in the general forum.

And no, you don't get paid just because someone says your name.

wow. Those costumes look pretty awful. They look like they were stolen from some high school drama club. This should be interesting... to say the least.

By the Way,Uwe Boll told on his Website, that Dolph did hurts his Foot during the Shooting and all his Running-Scenes had to do his Stuntman.
The first Trailer will come out later

Well, that doesn't sound real promising. Hopefully the doubling isn't laughable like Seagals recent flicks.
