Wil there be any more features on the 3D version, I wonder?

I doubt it (the extra is featuring both 3D & 2D versions and being packaged in steelbook), it wasn't specified on the press release and all non-US edition seem to have the same extras (19 mins interviews with director and cast + trailer or photo galleries depending on territory):
http://press.optimumreleasing.net/dyn/U ... elease.doc

By the way i listened the audio commentary and it's great and proably one of the best commentaries because it's a real discussion and reflexion on cinema and filmmaking in general through the exemple of this film. It seems Dolph is a little more talkative than on the 3rd one and there's a few lighter funny bits like when he does an impersonation of Brando in his GODFATHER voice...

I'm 2/3 into the DAYS OF RECKONING making of which again is quite awesome!

So I really urge anybody to pick up the U.S. Region A Blu-ray or Region 1 DVD just for the extras which are really worth it (and the movie looks great but be aware it's the R-rated "cut" version).

EDIT: There are 29 seconds of difference between the R-rated and UNCUT (NC-17) versions.

EDIT 2: By the way the cuts have been edited by John Hyams himself at least so they're done properly.

EDIT 3: French FB ad

There's always 1 or two like that but it seems they come in waves now (and not very articulate in their strongly disliking the film hence my choice of the word "hate"):
sorry it was a bad movie

Sorry Dolph but that movie was horrible.

OMG spare yourselves the 90 mins..saw this the other night..it was bad..sorry Dolph you are ace but this film was BAD

I watched this the other night, and it was awful...sorry Dolph...you are amazing normally..but this was SHIT....

Fuck dolph

The worst Universal Soldier movie I've have ever seen. JCVD and Dolph are in it for like 10 min. That fuckin strobe light nearly made me vomit. What a shame.

..this UniSol:DOR is nothing but shit!!...Don't hire John Hyams any more...He lacks of good imagination and character development..Advice for Scott Adkins:..Don't get any involvement in Van Damme or Lundgren's movies any longer..Prove yourself you can be your own way...Get involved in big budget films like Jason Statham,OK..

What a shame. What happend with you Mr.Dolph? You haven't learn how to directed a movie? Are you serious!!! The worst movie I ever seen.

That's ridiculous, it's not a perfect film, but it's not due that kind of backlash. I dunno, people complain about these kinds of films being paint by numbers, and when a genuinely ambitious one comes along, people trash it... I don't get it.

Those comments don't really bother me. The truth is that it's way too challenging for most action fans.

I think that those same "fans"would have complained if DL had put out another run-of-the-mill B-action flick a la "Peacekeeper" as well. Or they wouldn't even have watched it, more likely.

All those people who are making stupid comments on facebook don't understand the movie. They expected something else: a no brainer action movie. They are too lazy to think about the film and the deeper aspects of it. But I have to say that it's the studio's fault for some part. They promoted the movie as a no brainer action spectacle...

With all the risks and departures taken, it was a given that the movie was not gonna please everybody and John Hyams was very aware of it and as he well put it: "if I don't risk alienating some fans then I'm not doing my job". But what is a shame about those who dislike it is that they don't articulate their opinions and just trash it without even acknowledging the trial and ambition of the project. So yeah, as you put it, people complain about the lack originality in movies but when one actually get away from the run-of-the-mill flicks then they're appalled by it!

As unbelievable to us as it seems that some actually do prefer UNISOL: THE RETURN and Bill Goldberg's redneck goofball-ness!

EDIT: The Canadian-Quebec edition is UNCUT but doesn't feature the commentary or making of; only the short interviews.

In the DVDActive review, Gabe makes note of the fact that on the US commentary, there's clearly a big blank edit on the track at the scene with the bat to the head. So I guess that's one of the cuts, made to sync up when the film syncs up again. But at least we can kind of confirm it was an NC-17 commentary done before the cuts. Is Sony only releasing US:DoR in the states? do they 'own' the commentary?
