'N' pretty boring. I've watched so many zombie flicks in the past five years 'n' none of 'em managed to surprise me.

With the look of the robots, I could also see someone like The Asylum backing this...

Asylum only releases their own in-house productions which BOTD is not.

That review was 6/10 which is pretty solid for a movie like that. They may have a little more tweaking to do here and there with FX yet. So we'll see. I'm still looking forward to this. Definitely more so than Tomb Of The Dragon.
Man Will Rise interests me most of Dolph's upcoming movies at the moment.

I believe BOTD is definitively DONE, no more tweaking or anything. Hope it's fun dolphage and dammage (without vandammage)

Now it's done, I hope we hear word from the director soon. The guy has ideas that far exceed his budgets, but I'm always surprised that those ideas still shine through on the limited funds he has access to.

I thought Zombieland was very good, and funny. Let's see how BOTD turns out.

Edit: I just read the recent interview that Jox linked in the Interviews thread. The following gets my hopes up for BOTD:
I recently did a film called Battle of the Damned, in which there were a lot of martial arts fight sequences, so not only did I have to get my kicking down-pat but I also had to do a lot of that mobility work beforehand.

This site still lists theatres and showtimes despite that I have been told the Russians were not delivered anything yet... Anybody in Moscow to check?

I've seen the trailer for this now, and it looks pretty awesome.

It is obviously low budget, but it has a dark and gritty look with plenty of gore. Also the locations look cool and suit this kind of post apocalyptic actioner well.

There was a fair amount of shakycam in the trailer though, I hope they haven't relied too much on that in the actual movie.

The robots looked surprisingly well done, they didn't show them too much, but they looked convincing.

Also the zombie makeup looked good from what I could tell.

Dolph has a couple of funny quips in the trailer, and his character looks pretty interesting. It doesn't seem like it's anything we haven't seen before from him, but none the less he seems to be having fun here.

Sounds good! Are you in Germany too, how did you see the trailer? The producer doesn't want to unveil it publicly yet he told me.

By the way the same company produced THE ICEMAN (with Michael Shannon and Winona Ryder) which currently seems to get a very good buzz...

The trailer is up on Vimeo, but it's password protected.
A friend who works in the industry gave me the password.

I suspect the trailer will be made public during Cannes.

Picked up by Anchor Bay in the US!

Which means it may screen on a theater or two a la The Package!

And I was at the international distributor/production company's booth booth yesterday morning, they wouldn't tell me when I asked who was the US distributor! Though I figured it must be Anchor Bay...
Anchor Bay Entertainment’s president Bill Clark and acquisitions EVP Kevin Kasha made the deal. “There truly is no other film like this on the market, it’s got zombies and robots and spectacle. The visual effects are fantastic and this is one of the best roles Dolph has ever had.”

Rights have gone to the UK (Momentum/eOne), Canada (VVS), Germany (Tiberius), France (AB Groupe), Latin America (Gussi), Italy (Minerva), CIS and Baltics (Carmen), Japan (Klockworx), South Korea (JoyNContents) and Eastern Europe (Monolith).

Deals have also closed with the Middle East (Eagle Films), Turkey (Daro), Greece (Feelgood), Israel (United King), South Africa (Daro), Thailand (M Pictures), Malaysia (Suraya) and the Phillippines (Solar).

They told me they told all territories, everybody seems happy about it and it sounds like the movie delivers what it promises...
