Great news if that pans out. He's the kind of actor who seems to do whatever he's offered, but he's also a really good actor. I'd assume he'd play the heavy. Would make for an interesting contrast with Lundgren.

Great bit of casting. Perlmans a quality character actor. He'll add a lot to this. Hopefully they can get 1-2 more names to join.

Just five words....Hell to the fuck yeah.

That's gonna elevate this movie both in terms of quality and sales.

Fantastic news. Perlman always gives 100%. Might even get in Guillermo Del Toro's ear about putting Dolph in one of his films! :P

May the gods hear you.
But even if I'm a huge fan of Del Toro, I don't know if Dolph would fit in his universe. (maybe as Roger The Homunculus in Hellboy 3). I mean, the big guy prefer movie grounded in reality or with "realistic" fantasy.
Would be interesting to know if he would be interested in a big fantasy movie with a good director.

back to Skin Trade, Ron Perlman (I guess as a villain) is good value. He does any movie that comes to him, but always gives himself a 100%. And he has goods connections with personnal projects (and he's friend with Thomas Jane, which is good omen). My guess is that he takes this project seriously and not just as a paycheck.
This flick as so far all the ingredients to become one of my top ten movies :)
Add some spirituality in the mix, and it's a masterpiece.

PS : and to add quality in the mix, let me tell you that the production designs on Jan Dara, Nag Nak (and as i recall on Black tiger's tears) were great. :)

Director Ekachai Uekrongtham has started to post a couple of artsy personal photos he took while scouting locations
(that doesn't mean these are representative of what the film will look like, but you can appreciate his sense of composition and atmosphere)

This has some definte ingredients to be good:
1. talanted and hungry director.
2. 8 years developed script.
3. Tony Jaa
4. Ron Perlman.
5. There is no Avi Lerner near.
6. Pretty long filming priod.
7. Dolph Lundgren as a producer (i like his vsion).
8 etc.

Good point... :D

The locations look beautiful and will add production value to the pic if they are used.

I am excited about this project.

Another exciting news:
I am really excited to tell you that my friend Michael Jai White has joined me, Dolph Lundgren, and Ron Perlman in the cast of Skin Trade. We will have several more cast announcements very soon. This movie is going to be a serious action/thriller. I think we are going to pick you up off your seat in the opening scene and never let you down from there. I will tell you more about the story soon. Best Wishes TJ

I'm not sure which roles Perlman and White will have hold as they are quite a few to fill they could both be right for. Hopefully it's gonna be too "on the nose".

What I did know that director Ekachai Uekrongtham has a stage show about the origins of Muai Thai called "Muay Thai Live - The Legend Lives" opening in January in Bangkok

Michael Jai White? Holy shit this cast is better than any non Expendables film he's ever done. I'm so glad to see his passion project come through for him, one of the guys who truly deserves it.

Funnily, much like GdT I am a huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft, and in the one of this books, The Call of Cthulhu, there's a character I can't imagine anyone other than Dolph playing in a film.
