You bet! Otto was quite good. Love how panicked he gets when he's trying to cut the power at the Yakuza headquarters. He really sells it.

Barry Otto is actually an acclaimed Shakespearian stage actor in Australia (and accessorily Miranda Otto's father), he was last seen in the remake of THE GREAT GATSBY.

You’re probably young enough to have had The Punisher with Dolph Lundgren.

You kidding me? Absolutely, absolutely. That’s true.

That was my intro to Marvel.

Really?

I started reading The Punisher based on that.

Frank Castle.

Favorite Film Discoveries of 2013 - Samuel B. Prime
Samuel B. Prime is a film programmer, lost cinema historian, and contributor to Slant Magazine / The House Next Door. His all-time favorite Sonny Chiba movie, WOLFGUY: ENRAGED LYCANTHROPE (1975), features Chiba as a werewolf detective tracking down a murderous, invisible ghost-tiger.

THE PUNISHER (Mark Goldblatt, 1989)
Forget PUNISHER: WAR ZONE and all other versions. Mark Goldblatt made an all-out, go-for-broke 80s action masterpiece. Dolph Lundgren is Frank Castle. He does battle with scuba-ninjas. Poisoned champagne. A bus chase scene. A pizza delivery man gets his ass beat (and his pizza stolen). These are a few of the pleasures of Goldblatt's THE PUNISHER. Watch it immediately.

Includes footage from the deleted prologue scenes. Dolph did the high jump at the beginning himself (in the back of the producers I believe) and hurt his back.

Hi guys - checking Amazon.co.uk for prices on the recent R2 DVD of The Punisher then started researching German mail order companies selling this new 3 disc Punisher 1989 edition and am very pleased to have found this site! I've owned an R1/US edition of this movie for several years now, saw the movie in London in 1990 and next saw it on SKY TV in 1991 then bought it on VHS a few years later.

It's one of the better comic book super hero movies, superior to the Thomas Jane effort and also the Ray Stevenson reboot (which I enjoyed, mostly ). I've reviewed all three Punisher movies on Amazon UK and I'm hoping to get this new German special edition ASAP. I've enjoyed reading all of the comments here in this thread and hope you guys keep commenting on this brilliant action movie.

One question, however....is the sound of the young girl's neck being broken by the Punisher restored to all three versions in this German release??

All the best from Glasgow, Scotland.

McRonson.

The three versions are:
- workprint (sound mix was not done)
- R-rated (I guess it's slightly cut)
- The uncut director's cut restored from the Japanese LD master (only released theatrically on VHS in France and Japan it seems)

So it's probably not the same sound on all 3 versions but what you're looking for should be on the latter. ;)

First, let me start off by saying I'm new here. Hi. :D

Secondly, I received my Punisher Mediabook from amazon.com on the same day I saw the 2014 Godzilla movie. Not a bad way to spend a Friday. This was surprising because the order form said the earliest it would arrive was May 28. It arrived new and sealed and cost a total of $63.98. You can order it here: http://www.amazon.com/Punisher-UNCUT-Mediabook-Blu-ray-DVD/dp/B00CNPYGVO/ref=sr_1_40?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1391320270&sr=1-40&keywords=punisher

When I first learned about the missing prologue over ten years ago, I was hoping against hope that an uncut version of the film would be released here in the U.S. Since it's doubtful that will ever come to pass, this is the closest we'll ever come to a definitive BD. Unfortunately, I don't have a region free player just yet, but I am planning on buying one soon.

Enough chitchat. Pictures or it didn't happen. Here it is with my other Punisher films:

Hi Pwnisher, welcome to the forum! Nice little collection you got there. I also like the other movies, especially Dr. Strangelove.
