It amazes me they can confuse a canned film for The Mechanik. As said before they put Sidney Furie as director and also Robert Miano in the cast. It does show little respect for Master Dolph.

that's because this is the credits they had on the poster for THE CONTROLLER, sometimes distributors don't further unfortunately, even NU Image listed THE MECHANIK with hose credits, and The Controller outline, in the AFM market 2004 catalog...

That's why I really do hope the film doesn't suffer from the typical NU Image laziness. Sometimes you get the feeling that company doesn't give a toss about quality. Although granted there are much worse companies like Phoenican. I do hope NU Image are turning the corner now too, doing bigger movies and theatrical movies. They have some big films in production and they are apparently the company who will produce a 70 million dollar Rambo 4.

Hopefully Dolph and Bryan's vision is able to come through. Plus I feel Dolph would have more support being that he is the star as well and must be kept happy, otherwise, NU Image don't get anymore Dolph Lundgren movies in their catalogue and he is one of their biggest sellers.

They must have had a late shipment in the stock. Generally films in Europe come out on Mondays on DVD. Wednesday is a funny day. I wonder if any other greek sites have it already released.

Does anybody know if this might have removable Greek Subtitles? :D Glad it's widescreen, let's hope it will be Anamorphic.

Any other countries releasing this yet?

Cheers,

VAT tax question?

Postby BrunnenMatt on 14 Oct 2005, 12:14

Hey Jox, I was wondering when you purchased those DVD's if you paid VAT. I emailed the company regarding purchasing the "Controller" and received an invoice with VAT tax included. I emailed them back and their told me there have to charge it to all orders.

I have purchased other DVD's from other European company and have never been charged VAT, living out-side of Europe.

Any help would be grateful, have not made order yet because of the VAT charge. Thanks

Mechanik received! Expect a review later today!

Postby Tom on 17 Oct 2005, 10:53

I have just woken up to hear the clattering of my letterbox. The Mechanik has arrived, a good 2 days early (funnily enough I got the Defender much earlier than expected. Unfortunetly I have to go to Colleg3 today, then wait until my brother finishes work to watch it, because he wants to see it.

Don't want to excite you too much but I've just watched the trailer and FUCK!

This looks amazing. As soon as the trailer opens were treated to an atmospheric shot in the dark, and the rain in some out of the way location. Before Dolph Lundgren shows flashes of kicking some ass. The action from the brief flashes look superb.

From the trailer I can see were in for some:

Gunfights- with plenty of stuff blowing up, blood spurting,
Fights
Car and motorbike chase.
explosions
Dolph looking like a total badass.

Now I;m literally giddy and won't be able to concentrate all day because this looks even better than I excpected, and I was expecting a lot after Defender. Anyone who wants really badly to see this film should buy it from Greece. I don't know yet what the osund mix is but it says 2.0 surround on the cover not 5.1. However the cover says Controller and doesn't mention a trailer, but there is a trailer and a damn, damn excting one. Making this look like it's a multiplex blockbuster.

To further excite you the budget seems more than Defender, more action, action effects etc. One thing I also really wanted was Dolph unleashing with some shotgun action and he does have a shogun.

Expect my review later and expect it to state, far and away the best Lundgren film ever!
