That looks like it could easily just be another of those Serafini films. It also looks about 15 years out of date stylistically. The cast is okay, and it seems like they have a reasonable lead but it's probably still going to be pretty awful by the look of it.
Thanks to some of the locations it doesn't look too bad at times, what I'm most afraid of is that it's just dull and uninvolving (not mentioning Messner as the lead playing hard-ass even in vulnerable or emotional scenes -which Dolph wouldn't-). I like this kind of memory loss premise and wouldn't mind one fo Dolph but this doesn't seem to be written or interpreted in the most interesting or edgy way... I'm looking foward to SHARK LAKE more than this one and RIOT.
These movies try too hard to be better than they are yet without any artistic ambition, taste or integrity, that's were you come to regret the ones that didn't try at all.
As Jox, I'm placing some hopes on Shark Lake rather than this vehicle (and big hopes on the Mike Mendez flick that should start filming these days/ weeks I think)
There seem to be a few action sequences and a good stunt team on RIOT but given the really short schedule and what seems a really really low budget, I would say they've put all their efforts in the trailer to sell it. I think I'd still prefer a SHARK LAKE even if bad rather a silly RIOT, but I'm really getting bored about any action or spectacle-oriented film... Waiting to know more about DON'T KILL IT but if Mendez didn't get trapped into something he won't have the same control as on his previous films and go all the way, it could be fun indeed (and a more prominent vehicle for D as well rather than 2-3 days cameo).
Yeah it'll be much better I guess. I know Dolph liked his role for being a bit different and nerd-ish (same with RIOT where there's something off about his character). Since after THE EXPENDABLES, he takes these roles kind of like an acting workshop where he have fun trying things as an actor. Apprently he also helped them out a bit with the editing (on WAR PIGS as well).
It's both, rather 4GOT10 which is the original and final US release title, but it seems sales agent VMI Worldwide is pushing to sell it under THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE DEAD internationally (we'll see if worldwide distributors follow)...
