Irish thesp Emmett Scanlan, 35, is best known for playing bad-boy Brendan Brady in Brit soap “Hollyoaks.” He co-stars in the BBC series “The Fall” with Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, and played the head riot guard in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

‘ROCKY’ START

Growing up in Dublin, he caught the acting bug when he saw “Rocky” on TV. “I remember being a kid watching the movie by myself in the living room,” he says. “Right then, I knew I wanted to do what Stallone did. I wanted to act.”

FLYING FISTS

Scanlan got to use some of Rocky’s moves in 2009 Irish drama “Once Upon a Time in Dublin,” where he plays a bare-knuckle fighter who has to come to terms with the murder of his younger brother, and leaves a bloody trail behind him. For a kid who wanted to be the hero, he notes he’s often been cast as the villain. “The irony is I’ve ended up as the Dolph Lundgren on most of my projects,” he says.

The Goldbergs, tv show with ... George Segal  ep12 from season 2. The kid says that in the 80's, in order to be a man, you have to get muscle, but he's far from being ... Dolph Lundgren (with a MOTU poster in his room).

Well, it's not the most clever show ever, but I guess it works well based on its nostalgia (it's not mocking the 80's at all, IMO). It's not the funniest either, but the characters work well, and they're likeable enough to randomly follow the show ;)

Boxer Jean Pascal, about fighting Sergey Kovalev:

"Sergey Kovalev is a great champion, a solid champion. He can punch, he has good speed, he is good with his distance, he does everything well. He has good technique and I love to be the underdog. I loved watching when [Rocky] Balboa fought the crushing Russian in 'Rocky IV,' and now this is my real life, and I am going to be the black Balboa."

According to what I read here and there, Dolph's footage was used in HBO mockyumentary "7 days in hell" with Andy Samberg and Kit Harrington.
Doesn't know yet if it's past footage or a brand new cameo.

It's "ancient" footage apparently, just like this voice appearance by Sly, Dolph, Talia Shire and Carl Weathers in a Mexican cartoon is very likely just audio from ROCKY IV...

They used this 1990 Swedish interview with a fake translation/subtitles:

Dolph Lundgren is wicked smart, never shot up steroids and is an actual REAL Martial Arts champion. Just saying...#80s

Yes, he was "introduced" to steroids after ROCKY IV, and used them over a period of two years (circa 86-87, on MOTU & RS I guess) before stopping. In '88, when he did THE PUNISHER, he also took the opportunity to lose about 30 pounds for the role I think (and seriously going back to karate).

PS Bomaz:

Nope, but you could say "woman film director" or "female film director" in some contexts.
