Trivia:

The BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25TH CENTURY series has a similar motif in its intro, reference or coincidence?

Prolific and legend title designer Wayne Fitzgerald did both BUCK ROGERS and THE PUNISHER!

Somebody mistakenly thought he spotted Brendan Gleeson as a prison guard and added him on IMDB but that's not him.
(Not mentioning that since most of the cast (minus principles) had to be Australians, it was unlikely they'd cast an Irish guy as an extra)

Here's how it goes in an interview when you only quote IMDB:
Your first credit is actually the Dolph Lundgren Punisher movie. Do you remember making that?
The what?

The Punisher.
No, I didn’t make that.

You’re uncredited as a prison guard so you were probably just an extra.
No, I wasn’t in it. Where did you get that from?

IMDB. I’d have to watch the film again and see if I can spot you.
The Punisher? No, I never did a film called The Punisher unless it’s retitled as something else.

It was based on a comic book so they wouldn’t have retitled it.
Oh no, then absolutely not.

Peseverance Records' soundtrack CD had been named one of the "Best Older Soundtracks of 2005" by Steven A. Kennedy of AmericanMusicPreservation.com

it's a spectacularly cheese-filled romp through trying to candy-coat an anti-hero

http://www.boomtron.com/2016/01/punishe ... ix-marvel/

I can understand someone might find it cheesy to some extent, but "candy-coated", really??! I don't think so there wasn't much in the "sugar-coating department" in how the film was made (in 1988 remember, few movies were as dark and violent back then)...

Is there any other Blu with the uncut version available? The German version is rarer than unicorn shite nowadays.

Now there's also the French edition with the uncut version, but it probably won't be available for long...

I keep looking at this awesome cover from the limited PUNISHER Magazine (16 issues total) and can't help but wonder if Dolph was the inspiration for it... Personally, I don't think it's much of a question, especially considering the issue was released in 1989... Also, the mention of Australia is odd...

I too was wondering about it (especially since I've been deeply working deep on THE PUNISHER this past year) when it first popped up on ebay, but the listing is inaccurate and the seller wouldn't change it.

It's from 1990 and not meant to be Dolph (I didn't think it looked like him): I found the illustration author Bob Larkin for confirmation and he emailed me back with a big
"NO!"

Even still, it's a better representation than the cover from the actual film adaptation in 1990... This one looks like Scott Bakula...

I don't think either of them really do resemble Dolph.

Although it was only published in 1990 due to its US uncertain fate, the comic adaptation of the film was actually made during the production (in 1988), without seeing any stills or footage. It was solely based on various drafts of the script. The author Carl Potts (Marvel and Punisher War Journal editor), was left out of the loop with confusing information regarding the final draft of the screenplay and the movie itself.

What's the reception of the Punisher and Jon Bernthal in the "Daredevil" series ?
Is it close to the Frank Miller comics and Steven Grant/Mike Zeck's stuff ?
