Seems the Blu-ray will be 4K, which would only be natural since the DCP (Digital Cinema Package) made for the theaters was made in 4K to do the 35mm cinematography justice (and most places no longer screen in 35mm).

HAIL, CAESAR! will hit Blu-ray on June 7th. Special features:

Directing Hollywood - The Coen Brothers have been making their mark on Hollywood for decades, creating acclaimed movies with their unmistakable brand of humor and unique storytelling style. As Joel and Ethan Coen discuss why they wanted to set their film in 1950s Hollywood, the all-star cast talks about working with this talented duo.

The Stars Align – Who better to appear in a film about Golden Age Hollywood and its stars than today’s biggest and brightest A-list talent? George Clooney, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill, Josh Brolin, Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Alden Ehrenreich, and Frances McDormand all join the Coen brothers in their Hollywood playground. The cast shares what drew them to the project, the secrets of the unique and zany characters they play and how the Hollywood ofHail, Caesar! differs from the Hollywood they know.

An Era of Glamour – From the costumes to the sets, no details were spared in Hail, Caesar! and the production designer, costume designer and other key design professionals sit down to talk about how this exciting era was returned to the big screen.

Magic of a Bygone Era – Hail, Caesar! features two classic-in-the-making musical numbers: an aquatic spectacle featuring Scarlett Johansson and a rousing tap dance from Channing Tatum. The cast and crew explain the process of bringing these scenes to life, from costumes to choreography and everything in between.

Special Features and Extras

Hail, Caesar! contains four featurettes. A DVD copy of the film and a voucher for a UV/iTunes digital copy are included with purchase.

Directing Hollywood (1080p, 4:11): The cast talks up the Coen Brothers and enthusiasm for performing for them in the movie.
The Stars Align (1080p, 11:34): A quick run through of the characters and the actors who portray them.
An Era of Glamour (1080p, 6:22): A look at the movie's gorgeous and comprehensive production design.
Magic of a Bygone Era (1080p, 6:01): A look at the movie's key moments that capture the glamour and spectacle of the era.

(unless they mention him in the featurette "The Stars Align" but I somehow doubt it...)

It's Oscar season and studios put out materials for consideration, including scripts:

Production notes

Screenplay
(shooting draft dated October 13th, 2014, Blue revision dated January 5th, 2015)
http://www.universalpicturesawards.com/ ... play-2.pdf
(though those scripts are sometimes truncated to match the finished product so I'm not sure we'll find Dolph's entire deleted scene in it)

I watched this last night (Thankfully I rented it on PSN before my account got hacked  ), it's not quite the sum of it's parts and I feel the story dedicated to the central mystery was left on the cutting room floor. Like perhaps they wanted to recapture The Big Lebowski.

Also, unless my history is incorrect, wasn't the real Eddie Mannix, far less sympathetic than the one portrayed on the film?

It sure feels like they missed something and left out a lot in the editing room making it too "all over the place" which is a shame...

I guess the real Eddie Mannix wasn't that nice indeed...

Eddie Mannix of Hail, Caesar! was a real, ruthless guy

Wether you're a fan or not of the Coen Brothers, I can honestly say this was another missed opportunity at satirizing early '40s Hollywood. Dolph's cameo adds nothing to the film and it was far more painful than the actual trailer. Definitely a comedy to skip by all means necessary.
