"The Good, the Tough & the Deadly" - book by David J. Moore

Postby Jox on 15 Jul 2015, 10:28

Here's the (provisional?) cover for Moore's new anthology book after "World Gone Wild: A Survivor’s Guide to Post-Apocalyptic Movies", to be published in December by Schiffer Publishing. Cover was designed by one of Cannon's old illustrators.

Dolph should be well featured in it and has an interview in it I think.

This massive study on action movies and stars from around the world, from the 1960s to the present, is filled with more than a thousand in-depth movie reviews that cover every action star who’s crossed over from the world of martial arts, sports, professional wrestling, and stunt work. Exploding with beautiful images, exclusive interviews, and a thorough action star index, this one-of-a-kind movie reference book and comprehensive fan guide features reviews by the author, Zack Carlson (Destroy All Movies!!! The Complete Guide to Punks on Film), Vern (Seagalogy: A Study of the Ass-Kicking Films of Steven Seagal and Yippie Ki-Yay Moviegoer!), Mike McBeardo McPadden (Heavy Metal Movies and Going All the Way: The Ultimate Guide to Teen Sex Comedies of the VHS Era), and several others. It is a quintessential tribute to the men and women who have left their mark in the action and martial arts film genres.

It's getting there...

Video Valhalla (David J Moore)
Okay, friends. Here it is. The first copy of my second book THE GOOD, THE TOUGH, AND THE DEADLY: ACTION MOVIES AND STARS is in the house. 560 pages that will melt the metal off a tank. What this means is that the book will be arriving in a few weeks. It's heavier than my last one by a few pounds. Get ready.

Meant to do this myself, thanks, Jox! The J-Man gets a thanks/shout out in the book and I contributed a few last minute reviews and Carl Weathers interview. Good, Tough, Deadly is pretty one of a kind guide to action flicks from the Cannon to Carolco to Nu Image era with over the top leading men in internationally pre-sold flicks. Dolph's interview is from the Skin Trade junket and he receives some nice compliments from other subjects basically for being a nice and professional guy.

Very happy and proud to be a part of it. It was also Amazon's #1 New Release in Film/TV books last week!

The signing this weekend in Los Angeles is going to be stacked with people like Sheldon Lettich, Don "the Dragon" Wilson, John Hyams, Ernie Barbarash and many more attending. I Come In Peace director Craig Baxley was also going to attend but had a conflict.
I kick ass, or kiss ass... and I'm busting heads! http://viendammage.blogspot.com/

Cool! 8)

Given the look of Moore's first book, this is a must have, and this signing with such and many guests is a rare event for a book release.
