Hmmm... I actually don´t know which title is the worst.
The Mechanik or THE RUSSIAN SPECIALIST...
I´m used to The Mechanik but I´ve never really liked that title.

I think THE RUSSIAN SPECIALIST wouldnt be that bad a title if not for the fact that a movie called THE SPECIALIST already exists...

I wonder who thought this up... Is it Dolph? Does he as a director have a say in this or do the distributer name the movie what the hell they want?
Well well... If someone spent enough time on the movie to decide it needed a title change... Then maybe they will put some effort into the actual release.
... One can always dream.

What are these idiots on! Why change the name to something so naff. They probably don't realise the films called Mechanik, becasue Dolph plays a Mechanik.
It;s a horrible name change and shows how poorly DTV movies are treated.

Seagal has had the daddy of name changes though. His film Mercenary will now be called: Mercenary For Justice, the worst title ever in the world, ever!

no usually directors don't have their say in the title the distributor choose to use, and sony seems to be expert at making silly changes like that... especially since they already had made all their marketing packages with the title THE MECHANIK, and apparently changed it last minute...

The Mechanik Netherlands question(s)?

Postby Wooden Spoon on 24 Dec 2005, 15:07

Could anyone please tell me or give me a link as to where I could buy The Mechanik Dutch version DVD? I have Retrograde in this this format but I brought it from e-bay. I would like to get the region 1 version but I don't like the cover to much and how the title has changed. I think the cover is loads better on the European version! Hope you can help!

Russian removable subtitles???

Postby Wooden Spoon on 02 Jan 2006, 13:00

Jox do you know if you can remove the subtitles on the Russian version of the Mechanik?? I know at the start of the film there are English subtitles so would buying this version mean that they would remove them from the film?
Thanks!
