Not sure they actually put out a Blu-ray:

Now this Australian edition might be the most complete PUNISHER Blu-ray (out September 7th) with two workprints AND a Dolph Lundgren interview, coming along the already existing extras (audio commentary, director's workprint, gag reel, uncut version, not sure if the Goldblatt interview is a new one or the French one) 8)

2. THE PUNISHER (Workprint 2) feature (96 mins 41 secs)
3. THE PUNISHER (Unrated) feature (89 mins 20 secs)

Interesting artwork. Wonder how recent the Lundgren interview will be?

They might have done shot it while he was in Australia last year (like the one for MEN OF WAR).

An (extended) edition in English is planned, bare with me, it will take some more work...

Oscars: Film Editor Mark Goldblatt Wins Run-Off Election for Academy Board Seat
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/o ... att-916204

Image

In the run-off, he defeated Maryann Brandon.
Mark Goldblatt has won a run-off election and secured a seat representing the film editors branch on the board of governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization said Monday.

Returning to the board after a one-year hiatus, he will join Carol Littleton and Michael Tronick in representing the branch.

The Academy announced the results of its elections for its 2016-2017 board on July 18, but out of the 17 branches, the election in the film editors branch resulted in a tie between Goldblatt and Maryann Brandon, necessitating a run-off election, which was held last week. This is the third time in Academy history that a tie occurred in the balloting. Run-off elections were held in 2009 in the directors branch and last year in the writers branch.

Goldblatt, who received a film editing Oscar nomination for 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, also has edited such films as Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and X-Men: The Last Stand.

Each of the Academy's 17 branches are represented by three governors, who may serve up to three consecutive three-year terms. The board also includes three governors-at-large appointed by the Academy. As a result of the final branch election, the total number of women who now sit on the Academy's board is 17, one less than on the previous board.

PTS PRESENTS EDITOR’S SUITE WITH MARK GOLDBLATT

(career interview, 1h38mins, PUNISHER talk at 52 mins)

Podcasting Them Softly is beyond thrilled to present a discussion with veteran film editor MarkGoldblatt! Mark‘s credits are beyond amazing, and feature some of the greatest action adventure films of our lifetimes — The Terminator, Terminator 2, True Lies, Bad Boys 2, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, Commando, Rambo: First Blood Part 2, Starship Troopers, Predator 2 and Tony Scott’s immortal action masterpiece The Last Boy Scout. He’s worked with absolute titans of industry, including James Cameron, Michael Bay, Paul Verhoeven, and Joe Dante, all of whom Mark has worked with multiple times. Other amazing credits include Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Hollow Man, Showgirls, The Ambassador, Halloween II, and Piranha. He also had multiple collaborations with Cannon Films head honcho Menahem Golan, which is always a subject that fascinates us at PTS! Mark‘s directorial debut was the wild and crazy Dead Heat with Treat Williams and Joe Piscopo, which he then followed up with the absolutely awesome The Punisher with Dolph Lundgren. We were overwhelmed by his resume and are so excited to share this exciting chat!

Street date: August 25th September 8
(since the movie no longer "indexed" in Germany, it should be more easily available on Amazon)

EDIT:
http://www.amazon.de/Punisher-Steelbook ... h+lundgren

Great news, the new German steelbook seems like it will feature the unrated/uncut (not workprint) version entirely in HD (while the previous uncut version was edited from SD clips from the Japanese laserdisc) 8)

SwissHD

The Disc will NOT be the same as the 3 disc unrated release that Koch Media already made 3 years ago.

Koch was able to locate an old 35mm Theatrical Print of the unrated Version in France.
They scanned this at 2K and took only the Unrated parts from it and inserted them in the existing R-Rated HD Master to create a proper Unrated Version.
So for the first time ever the Unrated Cut will be presented in High Definition from start to finish!
The Old Disc had the Unrated Inserts only upscaled from SD Footage (japan Laserdisc) in there which looked pretty crappy because of the change from Real HD to SD Upscale.
So big change for the better is coming with the new Disc 8)

http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p ... stcount=14

Will have to double-dip on this one and the Australian release (for new interviews with Dolph and Goldblatt)...

German site schnittberichte.com got the new HD master to review:

They say the film is now really uniform all the way through, and posted new screenshots of the reincorporated censored shots:
