A good review here (auf deutsch ;) ), pointing that Dolph is perfect as an horror hero.

Wow, this review seems to be quite raving. I know Dolph showed me some excitement about the project since the moment he was signed for it.

(Apparently even though it's screening in some festivals now there are still some visual effects and color correction to be completed ASAP...)

This looks ridiculous. I can't tell if it looks ridiculous in a good way yet but Dolph certainly has that ironic smirk nailed that he always does when he knows a film is total nonsense. The same tongue in cheek look he adopted for much of In the Name of the King 2.

At least this was a film that he actually wanted to be part of. I didn't really feel a smirk on ITNOTK2, rather a stiff and moody face

I actually really like the tone in the trailer.
It looks cheap in some aspects sure but I have hope that it can be some what fixed with color correction and sound mix. Because this is not a trailer cut from the finished film right?
Anyway.
It seems to me the film strikes a balance between absurd, gory, scary, funny.
A hard balance to keep and it may as well fall flat but to this feel miles more inspired than anything I have seen from D in some time.

I actually want to see this.

Well, let's not forget about the director : where Uwe Boll is an okay technician and an okay storyteller, he doens't have a vision as a director, he's an awful human being (as it seems) and don't really care about his movies.
Where Mike Mendez is an okay storyteller, maybe not the best technician, but he usually believes in his movie, doesn't have "over the top" ambition, and seems to be a nice guy.
I believe this kind of things can have an impact on the final product.
