The US theatrical release is scheduled March 3 and the funds gained by the Indiegogo campaign (4 days left so you can still help and get pretty cool goodies) will help be decisive for the number of theatres and how much they can invest in the publicity.

Sadly, I see another US:DOR debacle with this one if it gets a theatrical release. If it does get in theaters, it will only be playing in a select few -- NY, LA, maybe a few in Texas, etc (those are just examples). And if it does get theatrical releases, it's just not going to get a proper marketing push, leaving it to quickly die. Like I said, DOR had a similar experience. Not discrediting the quality of the film (DOR was great; DON'T KILL IT looks to be the most exciting thing on Dolph's slate), but without proper publicity and more than just a handful of theaters, this could be a disaster. VOD is the safer bet where it will get much more attention.

Oh I think everybody is aware it's only for show, as with most movies released theatrically, because very few actually make money there (even the bigger movies). Although with this one they may hope it's the kind that can somewhat be a sleeper hit with a good run in the long term with word of mouth (sometimes you're amazed at smaller movies with no star or money who actually become hits). And unlike UNISOL: DOR, what DON'T KILL IT has for it is that it's a fun and undemanding movie, and it won't alienate half of the franchise fans, so it's a very different beast. But of course the release is mostly symbolic and cool if they pull it off...

They raised $15,415 by 62 backers, which is much better than any of the previous crowdfunding campaign for a Dolph film (UNISOL 4, WAR PIGS)...

It's all explained on the Indiegogo link above, but basically more money to spend on the release, the DCP (Digital Cinema Projection) master delivered to theatres, the advertising etc

The music score is from Sean and Juliette Beavan from the band 8mm. Sean Beavan has previously worked with the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Guns 'n Roses, No Doubt...

Danish/Norwegian release in May

Wait Dolph Lundgren?? The guy from Shark Lake??
ha ha. It really annoys me when on the back of his DVD covers when they put some of his woeful credits by his name. ha ha. Like anyone will have seen it.

Yeah, which is rare because usually they stick to mentioning ROCKY IV, UNIVERSAL SOLDIER or THE EXPENDABLES. From seeing their other back covers for LARCENY and ALTITUDE they seem to basically mention the other titles they're releasing so they'll probably get SHARK LAKE out as well.

Good news for the composers. What I've heard from the band 8mm seems to suit the movie universe quite well (and a guy who worked with NIN is a pass through to me).
