They've actually took quotes from the announcement article (from before the movie was produced) and added exclamation marks so they can have the name Variety on the cover...

Dolph Lundgren will star in the action-heist thriller “Larceny,” Variety has learned exclusively.

All hell breaks loose when the local cartel boss, whose millions in confiscated cash is also being stored in the safe, sends waves of thugs and professionals to siege the facility and steal back the money.

They also took a negative review from an unknown blog (Bobafett1138) who gave it 4/10, and they put 4 stars on the cover instead... These guys are geniuses haha!

Gonna skip this one out. You know it's bad when they are literally making up reviews. 'An action heist thriller' is not a review, that's a statement. It could be the worst fucking action heist thriller ever made. I couldn't get through Shark Lake, I doubt I'd be able to get through this. Will wait for Malevolence.

Was kinda surprised to see this pop up on Netflix here in the US considering it really hasn't even had an official release in the US... Is there even a distributor? And is an official DVD release now out of the question?

It's also on Australian Netflix. Starting it now.

EDITED TO ADD:

That was terrible.

A lot of small movies now get premiered exclusively on Netflix and given the technical issues of the final product it's not surprising for this title (and possibly a good deal for the distributor, as a DVD or Blu-ray release seems a long shot in the current state of the physical market, so either it won't get a DVD release in these markets, or after a small one after the Netflix run...

Like I said before,
Jox wrote:this project clearly seems like it had important production and money problems, seemingly running out of cash or loosing some financing during the making of it, especially in post-production.

So be aware of it and keep an open mind when you see it.

A lot of the dialogues are like rough production sound, lacking proper sound design, effects and sound mix. They may have rewritten the script on the spot à la DIAMOND DOGS as well. Even the end credits look incomplete (no copyright) and the crew listed is minimal.
I'm sure R. Ellis Frazier, who is a descent kinda old-school director, had a different film in mind... DEAD DROP with Luke Goss was much better in comparison. As such, LARCENY is kind of a weird cinematographic object.

I don't blame R. Ellis Frazier at all. It had an interesting setup, Dolph Lundgren gets himself locked in a hellhole Mexican prison to loot a drug lord's $50 million stash hidden in the armoury, and it's nice looking for a DTV movie. This was clearly a movie that ran out of money.

Is it irredeemable, or still worth a look?

Only as an object of curiosity to study an example on how everything can go wrong on such a production... What a shame because it could have been good in other circumstances.
