Moreover I think that it's AQUAMAN finishing later than expected that might have caused MALEVOLENCE some delays because I don't see it being shot before the end of the year now (and then CREED II might take over priority)...

Yeah, I didn't know Aquaman took longer than expected for him (but it's kind of good news).
And it might wise to direct after Creed and Aquaman. If he shoots Malevolence before the summer it might get to speak about it during press for the bigger movies, and his name might get bigger, or at least introduce him to a new audience, and get more publicity for his directorial effort.
It's a "blessing in disguise" (yeah, I used google translate for this one as I didn't know a right english saying for my idea ^^)

Dolph told me it's kind of in the vein of THE WRESTLER meets ONCE WERE WARRIORS (that's what he said unless he confused it with Tom Hardy's WARRIOR, in any case that sounds awesome)...
A co-producer of the film whom I'm acquainted with (and actually helped me on my short film back in 2005) wrote me: "GREAT script and so happy to finally be working with Dolph. We been looking for a while for the right project -- this is really a fantastic one."
If CREED II is filmed in March-April, this hopefully would be produced in the summer or next fall... Crossing fingers for that one!

I missed this message (and the Nordic Light update), but it's good omen for the movie.

Possibly shooting in Rome instead of London this fall, because now some of the financing is coming from THE TRACKER producers (which is possibly why he finally signed on to do that one after being a few years in the back burner?)...
It's unclear whether or not Scott Adkins will still be in it, but his name has been removed from IMDB.

I hope Scott won't be in it. Other known actors would be fresh for Dolph.

Would still like to see Adkins be a part of it. But with these sort of films the dates seem to constantly change and Adkins seems to go from film to film pretty quick with not much downtime in between. Guess it comes down to schedules.

Agree with Molt. With both Adkins and Lundgren involved, this could be a very high-profile VOD release. And when I spoke to Chalke, it's the plan to have Dolph direct. I stand by my statements that I think Dolph directs his best work. With Adkins and Dolph directing, this could be amazing...

Yeah. Though last year it was set to be shot and located in London (which would have been cool to see), so having Scott Adkins playing a detective made sense there, I'm not sure it does now if the story takes place in Rome.savagesketch wrote:Agree with Molt. Scott Adkins still announced in VWI Worldwide Cannes line-up (although that can be a misleading trick to hype up the distribution sales):

Any updates regarding Malevolence? Is it still happening this year?
If he dies....he dies....
Re: MALEVOLENCE (Dolph Lundgren, 2017-2018) (announced)
We'll see...
When THE TRACKER was made last February/March, MALEVOLENCE was supposed to start production in September but now it seems schedules changed with the British TV show, then the PR blitz of CREED II and AQUAMAN might keep busy in the winter.

Well, Dolph said he was getting ready to shoot a film in Rome in september Could it be that ?
Re: MALEVOLENCE (Dolph Lundgren, 2017-2018) (announced)
I would believe so but he hasn't prepped it so I dunno, unless he let go of the directorial duties...
