I have no idea, but I'd say it's probably the same HD master used as for the Blu-ray.

Showdown in Little Tokyo

Postby steepledcargo on 08 Jun 2018, 10:35

Hi Folks
I've just set up a Showdown in Little Tokyo instagram account ( @showdown_in_little_tokyo ). As the name suggests its everything related to that movie, Dolph Lundgren's work of that era and my personal boyhood idol, Brandon Lee. I'm also going to chuck in the odd bit of 90's JCVD and Seagal stuff. Just through google searches i've already found some stuff off this forum that would make great posts. Do any of you guys have any interesting pictures, interview snippets, art or anything else related that you could share with me to post? I wanna make the page a real forum for old and new fans of the movie, and try and be as accurate as possible with the information i put in there. Thanks guys!

That's because I'm a little picky about not having too many threads on one movie ;)

The only time I got to shoot an automatic Uzi... 24 rounds in 7 seconds. This was Day 1 of the film shoot around 10am in downtown Los Angeles.

Director Essentials: Mark L. Lester

8. Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991) Lester took a few years off after Armed and Dangerous and got back to what he does best with Class of 1999, a super entertaining sci-fi sequel to his 1982 cult classic. Following that, he closed out his theatrical period (other movies got theatrical releases, but were primarily discovered on video and HBO) with Showdown in Little Tokyo, a buddy cop movie teaming Dolph Lundgren with Brandon Lee. Lean, mean, and insanely violent (like, this movie maybe shouldn't have gotten an R), Showdown once again shows Lester leaning into his love of genre and cleverly working with an established action star in Lundgren while trying to introduce a new star in Brandon Lee. Like a lot of the films on this list, this one might be easily dismissed as generic junk (not by the people who read this site, who know the goods). But considering it in relation to all of the other titles in Lester's filmography, one can see just how proficient a genre filmmaker he is. His movies deliver.
