While the complete series was released on DVD in Thailand, Brazil, Italy or Japan, we had dodged more prominent releases of SAF3, which is now scheduled in the US by Sidewinder Films as an 86 min feature length DVD on August 7. Not sure if it's a recut or a just the first two episodes for instance...

How prominent is Dolph in the first few episodes? Cause I kinda want to add the US DVD to my Dolph collection.

From memory, he is in them quite prominently, but then the other -terrible- characters are as well (top notch bad writing and bad acting, any bad movie is a masterpiece compared to this)...

I think Dolph was totally mislead and kinda of manipulated by the producer to be in this, and it was painful when he arrived on the production.

The bad acting was exactly why I did not watch anything beyond the initial trailer. I understand that everyone has to start somewhere, but.. there is a big difference between new and woefully unskilled.

I enjoyed Baywatch and even Baywatch Nights, but this was just unredeemable.

Seems like some fine folks decided it would be brillant to release a second feature-legnth DVD under the title SAFE3 2: UNDER PRESSURE, which judging from this new trailer looks like mash-up of several episodes...

To quote 'savagesketch' above, "get your pre-orders ready...  "

SAFE3: 2 ... doesn't even make any sense. Do you guys think this stuff actually damages Dolph in the DTV market or do you think so little people actually see it, it makes no difference? What I'm getting at here is, if someone sees Dolph in Creed II and Aquaman and then as a result picks up his next DTV release, do you think they automatically switch off again and go 'nope, not buying anything with Dolph Lundgren in it again.' Whereas if Skin Trade came out in 2019 and they picked that up after watching Creed II, they might be more inclined to buy future movies...

For me that's why the quality of DTV movies have gone down. Take Seagal movies in circa 2004. Still 15-20 mil budgets. Cue 2017 and he's working with way less than 5 mil. I put it down to audience being turned off by poor quality. Otherwise if his DTV movies were shit hot and kept bringing in money, surely the budgets would remain relatively stable?

Hard to tell and I can't get into a long reflexive post right now but I guess part of it depends on the circulation that it gets (like if this was in every Target or Walmart in America that would be bad, but last year's release was so confidential it wen't unnoticed).

A few years back, Dolph seemed to think from our discussions that nobody would see these small titles so it wouldn't matter much as long as he was good in something even terrible, but that if he was bad in a big movie that's seen everywhere then that would hurt him / his career in a bigger way...

For sure now would have been a good time for SKIN TRADE to come out (I can tell it was seen by a lot of people though) and could have gotten the proper release it deserved.

That makes sense. I guess he's right about that actually. Critics praised his performances in Creed II and Aquaman, so from the perspective of him getting more roles like that, producers are going to view those performances with intent, probably not stuff like Saf3.

For those still eager to watch or own this show (at your own peril), the complete 20-episodes are now on Amazon Prime (US) in HD:
