My gratitude and admiration to our German member 'Harry' of the Scarescrow Area blog for reading the French edition of my book and writing a review with a 9/10 grade! :D

Just the type of immature, ill-informed movie talk podcast (or shall I say giggle and trash talk) that I can't stand, this would be just two guys in a bar if it wasn't for the internet... I couldn't even listen more than a few minutes.

I don't mind the criticism (especially with 30 years of experiencing it), but at least I want to hear a real discussion with no continuous "teen laughs" and relevant, thoughtful arguments.

On this day last year when I presented a 35mm screening of THE PUNISHER (& DEAD HEAT) at the closing night of the Festival des Maudits Films (Grenoble, France)

Here is the greeting that Dolph graciously sent us to screen:

Funny enough, I'm re-reading a little book about the movie. Maybe you've heard about it, it's made by this french fella
Gotta re-watch the movie right after that.

Haha! You're right, it's a little book compared to what's become the English edition...

And I am eagerly anticipating what is clearly going to be a definitive tome about the best Punisher movie EVER!

But these continual teases are driving me wild.

You and me both! It's taken a lot longer than I intended to that's for sure!
“Slow work makes the book. Slow, long, in-depth research and thinking makes the book and, I can’t think creatively if I’m going a million miles an hour.”
- Reni Eddo-Lodge

A pretty good retrospective review and with a sweet "trailer" montage of the film to start with:

I just don't get the now recurrent critic of it being "typical of the 80s" (it's made in the 80s and I disagree with it being "typical") and of being "an action flick more than an adaptation of the comic with not much depth"...

The Japanese Blu-ray features this rare deleted scene, absent from the 3 workprint-cuts owned by yours truly, meaning there was a 4th or at least a fuller assembly-cut. 8)

After confronting Castle in prison and resigning from his job, Berkowitz emptied his desk, and this whisky bottle labeled "POISON" with a death skull on the other side (according to the production script)...

The Japanese edition also features the hospital sequence where Berkowitz visits Sam Leary and gets abducted by Franco's men (that scene was on the first workprint cut unearthed that you can find online in very bad quality -- the Japanese distributor found a better source)...

Should I be flatered or annoyed that the French book cover has been used to make a 2019 Hungarian pocket calendar?

Still nothing. The listing is there, but it's NOT available for streaming.

And just for fun, the Dolph movies available for streaming are

Kindergarten Cop 2
Welcome to Willits
Don't Kill It
Legendary
Larceny
Skin Trade.
