I recently had the pleasure to watch a test disc of the upcoming French Blu-ray:
8)

1/ The film looks stunning, like you've never seen it before unless you were lucky to catch it on the big screen...

2/ The 30 minutes interview with director Frédéric Forestier is fantastic. With many anecdotes, Forestier covers almost everything in details, from deleted scenes to special effects, the stunts, the music, as well as his experience as a 26 year-old up and coming filmmaker coming to Canada for his first feature film.

And it features rare on-set footage, behind the scenes pics, storyboards and concept arts, pretty much a full making of!

An excellent bonus feature that I am glad I had something to do with it happening (the interview is in French though with no subs though).

Looks like great poster art and featurettes, but didn't realize the ending was similar to the later fourth Mission: Impossible.

I'll have to rewatch this film. Seems like its one of his better known films for first time fans due to being distributed mainly thru Canadian/US cable TV and DVD releases, and coming out around the same time as other Die Hard styled White House thrillers like Murder at 1600, Absolute Power and Shadow Conspiracy.

Always great to listen to you guys but I thought you were a little unfair to the movie.

It sucks that the Amazon Prime version isn't good quality since a good HD masters exists (the French Blu looks as good as it can be), not mentioning I had no idea there could still be versions where they re-dub the swear words!

robotGEEK'S Cult Cinema's Jason Elizondo's reaction on its first viewing
Holy shit this was awesome. This has everything I want in a low-budget B-Grade Die Hard rip-off. Stylish, great action and Dolph being a badass. Roy Scheider plays the president where a former soldier of his threatens a nuclear war on Washington, and it’s up to Dolph (on his first day as a secret service agent), who teams up with Montell Williams (???), to stop him. Great stuff! And there’s an insane rooftop car chase atop a bunch of apartment buildings that needs to be seen to be believed. It’s nuts! I still don’t know how they pulled that off. On Amazon Prime.

I (finally) watched the Forestier interview on the blu-ray and it indeed is a great piece, full of information and nice stuff. And Forestier seems like a likeable guy.

Yep, that's all we ask from a director's interview and he manages to cover most aspects of making the film in 30 minutes, nicely illustrated with his personal archives as well.

Too bad this movie din't have budget ! First 26-30 minutes of this flick are just awesome A class movie, but after that car chase on the ruffe everything goes down ! Villain development was not very good, I wish Alan Rickman Or Tommy Lee Jones to be in that role - another Die Hard Type movie ...
