approximative translation of the french review in the french magazine Mad Movies

For his first film as a director , Dolph Lundgren chose to direct a political thriller , wich he lead in a Assault on prescint 13 style . He take the lead role , LAnce Rackford , a bodyguard who take care of the NSA chief in a meeting in Romania , where she meet secretly Jamal , one of the most wanted terrorists .Then the house is surrounded and attacked by an elite commando , forcing them to hide . But the commando hunt them into the house ... With a brilliant "à fleur de peau" ( kind of .... i don't know ... maybe "organic" , i'm not sure ) directing , an overexcited rythm , several brutal action scenes during the movie , and a Dolph Lundgren with the best of his form , The Defender seduce ( "fait mocuhe" in french , i don't the eqquivalent ... ) .

sorry for my bad english .

I love the movie! Probably because it was filmed in my country. But I did not love the catacombes in it...

The tech specs sound very good. Is 88 minutes the original lenght? I always suspect cuts with german versions for 16 years and older.

88 min sounds correct in PAL (I think it's actually 87 and something), 91 in NTSC.

Making of! Get in! Sony are giving Dolph the limelight at the moment. DD has been given a good US release, and now The Defender gets a good DVD in the UK.
