This film goes up in my expectations every time we see a bit more info. It could be action gold. Dolph has said himself he won't lend his name to anything he knows will be lame, anymore. I hope Dolph is giving the director plenty of good ideas. And the Chinese stunt guys will surely come up with some insane stunts as always. The location too is a lot more interesting than Eastern Europe.

Also, is it me or is the Dolph looking a bit more pumped than recent films. The guns are looking a bit bigger than his last few films. Maybe he wants to keep up with Raicho, who looks pretty huge himself.

Those shirtless pics look as if they could be situated in an end fight, and Dolph will surely face off against Raicho, who is of a similar build to the D-man. They;d better rumble, that's for sure.

Okay that's not from an end fight (at least I don;t think so) but judging from this pic, it's a fight still.

well from the set photos it seems that Dolph is still working with Barry Evans (Direct Action, Defender, Mechanik) on the fights but there's also a fight coordinator who's chinese... And the cinematographer is chinese as well so I think it's good news as well... It seems this will have a lot of production value on screen and as you said Tom, just the location itself is great and is gonna bring a good change... and now we know the D-man takes it shirt off so the ladies will appreciate! http://www.blog.sina.com.cn/myblog/article/article_print.php?blog_id=5475466d0100076j

Yeah! Shirtless fights! Shirtless fights in a frickin' mine or something!
Cool setting, cool Dolph!
Also like the posing pics from the links posted above. It looks like Dolph are actually posing for another camera. Wonder if that one is a more official one? Cover pics?

These pics leaking from DD and TD are looking very interesting!

Jox, thanks for those wonderful pics. You know how to make carrie and me happy. ;-) Seems that there's a good movie coming on (despite that haircut)! I'll pre-order Prosecco and strawberries and schedule a nice Dolph night with my fellow "Dolph, action and gore afficionada". Did I already mention our two great sofa-nights with sparkling wine, sweets and Dr. Herbert West? ;-)

According to IMDB the cinematographer is the man responsible for House of Flying Daggers (for which he got an Oscar nomination), and also the upcoming Curse of the Golden Flower.

The Chinese production company have also got a good track record including Kung Fu Hustle 1 and 2 and the upcoming John Woo epic, Battle of the Red Cliff. This does seem that DD will not be a run of the mill DTV movie. It looks like they are pulling out all stops.

From Leo St Pierre this morning:

"Diamond Dogs" in the can -- and editing on it has started in Montreal. I haven't seen rushes, but I'm told he's amazing in it.

Dolph has decided to direct "Tumbling Dice" himself (Great!) so he's delayed shooting of Tumbling by a couple of months off to plan his directing strategy -- I'm told shooting in Shanghai wil begin late January/early February. More after I've spoken with those in charge and Dolph.

Amen, brother, amen.

I wonder when Diamond Dogs will come out? Will it get a good distribution deal like Hidden Agenda and The Russian Specialist?

We're all still waiting on The Inquiry for god's sake!

When I first heard about DIAMOND DOGS I wasn't too impressed by the storyline. But with the photos shown here from the set and some of people who are working behind the scenes it's sounding more and more interesting. Hope it comes out soon in '07.
