Dolph Lundgren's Reality Series Explores Family and Career
https://swedenherald.com/article/dolph- ... ies-on-svt
The Swedish action star Dolph Lundgren's career and family life will become a reality series on SVT, where Lundgren will reconnect with his adult daughters.

"It's about father and daughter relationships and also about the daughters' relationship to my new wife. But also a bit about celebrity life in Los Angeles and my career. Medical adventures and adventures in Hollywood," says Dolph Lundgren.

The actor known from ”Rocky IV” and the ”Expendables” series visits Stockholm during the summer along with his wife Emma Krokdal. The couple is seen for an interview at an exclusive member gym on Östermalm.
Emotionally challenging

The series with the working title ”Lundgrens” has been recorded in Los Angeles and Marbella during an intense period and is a ”new beginning" for the family. Dolph Lundgren has fought a tough battle against kidney cancer but has been free from the disease since 2024. He and Krokdal have launched a vodka brand, at the same time their daughter Greta moved to Los Angeles to live with her sister Ida and get closer to her father.

"A challenge was the more emotional parts about my daughters' upbringing. How they felt my role had been, what I had missed and what I needed to make up for now," says Dolph Lundgren.

”A vicious circle”

The series gave Lundgren an opportunity to explain to his daughters how he had to work to support them and pay for other expenses.

"I had a large house with five employees and a dozen cars. It was not entirely free. It becomes a vicious circle that you buy more stuff and then you have to work harder to maintain it. It created a conflict that I will avoid in the future. You only live once and I had not done that before, so it went as it went."

Lundgren and his wife Emma Krokdal met at the gym in Los Angeles six years ago and got married in 2023. Krokdal felt that the reality series was a good idea as long as it became an authentic portrait of the family's life in Los Angeles.

"I have had conversations with Ida and Greta with the camera on that were deeper than I ever had before, says Emma Krokdal who is uncomfortable with cameras and partly had a hard time watching the series afterwards."

"But we saw the first episode and no matter how much I hate to see myself, I was very impressed by how emotional it was."

Dolph Lundgren will, among other things, visit ”Allsång på Skansen” and train karate during his visit to his homeland. The fact that he is doing the reality series in Sweden feels extra fun.

"We are Americans now and it's a big country that is more ”business”, but when I do something in Sweden, it comes from the heart."

Translated from Swedish:
Dolph Lundgren has built a career in Hollywood as an action hero, but the price was high: his two daughters grew up without him on the other side of the Atlantic. Ida, 29, is a model and is trying to make it as an actress. 23-year-old Greta moves to Los Angeles to follow her dream. Both of them want to repair the relationship with an absent father who now has a new family with his young wife Emma, and Dolph faces his most difficult task yet: to be present. Is it too late - or can even an action hero find reconciliation? Part 1 of 8.

Well... at least it's from the Public Service network meaning it can't be too trashy. Even at their most speculative they try to inject some sort of real sentiment. That being said I have close to zero interest in any of this.
I don't care about Dolph the online personality or Vodka salesman. I get that he is operating in the system in which we find ourselves but this just makes me want to check out.

Oh man, I just looked at the trailer now. Must be a generational or cultural cap, but I'm not interested in this format at all, even as a Dolph fan  Looks like the kardashia or stallone stuff.
Good for the family if they could make some dough out of it and if they liked the experience, but it's not my cup of tea (and I don't speak swedish :P )
