The end fight is a brief knife fight. There's a slightly longer fight just before that, between Dolph and the bad guys henchman.

The UK edition of UD comes out on Monday and features the alternate (and by all accounts far better) ending. I thought UD was really good, the first hour anyway. It kinda loses it when Van Damme wakes from his coma, and the end (US) doesn't work. I can't wait to get the DVD on monday.

Is the henchman fight good?

If I'm being honest, no. The final fight has promise. It starts off good, but ends so briefly you can't quite believe it. :x

The best fights in the film are the final fight, and a brief fight between Ronson and Chambers' thugs in an alley. There the ones where the pace and editing are pretty tight. Otherwise it's not great I'm afraid. The problem is they look like rehearsals, or blocking tapes. Very deliberate and phony, and as if thought up and filmed within a few minutes, then cut, print, move on! All a bit rushed.

OFF TOPIC:
Did anyone heard something about a Joshua Tree new dvd version, widescreen and 5.1 sound? I was trying to contact Artisan but no one replied. I emailed Joel Goldsmith too for the soundtrack but silence also.

No, non, nein, nothing... I wish I had. My hope for something like that to happen is if the Japanese release it on DVD...

Ah, I see. Well surely we can allow Dolph to slip up a little as long as MM is good - let's face it, it didn't sound like it was his fault.

Artisan was bought by Lions Gate, so you need to contact them.

First "offical" review linked on IMDB: odd rating system...

*sigh* It almost makes me angry to see that they wasted an interesting story and a fascinating location. Of course I'll buy it anyway but I'm beginning to loose patience. Get a budget and make a really good movie again, for heavens sake. *sigh*

The guy clearly doesn't know what he is talking about. First of all he said that Dolph wasn't a very good actor. Second, he said Van Damme wasn't a good actor. Third, Rocky IV was 22 years ago and the reason he thinks Dolph isn't a good actor is because he clearly hasn't watched films like Jill the Ripper etc so I'm not taking this pathetic, poorly constructed and unoriginal review to heart.

Yea, I bought "DD". The copy is agly - bad sound, horrible translate, but I must agree - photographer didn't do good job. :(

I had to download it myself (don't judge me... I'm going to buy it when it's available to buy, like when I downloaded The Russian Specialist). where'd you guys buy it?
