"A Day in the Life" video!!!

Postby Jox on 23 Jun 2008, 01:17

This great 22 mins video special (in 3 parts) follows Dolph in LA. This show was aired in 2005 on Swedish Showtime for a Dolph marathon (http://www.nonstop.tv/corporate/press/DOLPH_LUNDGREN_ACTION_HERO_ON_SHOWTIME.pdf). I'm not sure when this was shot but probably late 2002-2003 (as some footage suggests they were doing sound ADR for "Detention"). And you can see how slim he was!

It includes notably an interview (nothing new you'll say), a workout with Ralph Moeller and great footage of Dolph performing a Kyokushin kata (Seienchin) on the beach.

The only thing I have to say is that the show feels a bit forced but it's fun!

(might have to register to watch all 3 parts but it's free and worth it)

Hm, the first one is just a black quare and the second asks for username and password. It seems to be flash so I have no idea why it doesn't work. :-/

It is flash but you shouldn't have any trouble watching the first part; the 2nd and 3rd you have to be registered (but it really is no big deal)

That was great. I really enjoyed that. And, yeah, he really looks kinda thin. He must have bulked up a little for THe Mechanik and Missionary Man cause he was really skinny in The Defender too.
But Dolph is awesome. He gets cooler every year.

For those who have issues to watch it, I uploaded it here but I'll take it down afterward

Thanks Jox, that was brilliant! Very cheesy but very cool and very funny, found myself giggling a couple of times!
Dolph strikes me as a person who is always trying new things in order to re-energise himself, re-invent himself and keep himself feeling young, a very optimistic person that sees each day as a great opportunity to have a great time and feel great about himself and I think his new found directing skills will only keep this passion for trying new things alive and keep him youthful in appearance and mind into his old age. :)

That is awesome! I wonder if Jack Gilardi picked up Dolph as a client after Van Damme struck off on his own. I have to keep my eyes open for Dolph. An old co-worker of mine saw him working out at a gym, said he was built like a brick house and was kicking the crap out of a heavy bag. Then he's walking on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills, I work right down the street from there!

Gilardi has been Dolph's agent for a good number of years (at least eight), I don't think it has anything to do with one another. As all agents he has many clients, that's all.

Too true. Gilardi's was Van Damme's agent from roughly the beginning until a few years ago. Both men worked with Nu-Image quite a bit and still brought in a nice salary. I believe Gilardi's son was a producer on Detention so maybe he worked with Dolph more exclusively.

Thank you for uploading this, Jox. I think it's a lovely show. Of course it is pretty cheesy but still good. Amazing - after all these years I have the impression to see yet another silhouette of Dolph. And the piece with Ralf Moeller is great. Ralf always comes across very sympathetic, just watched Gladiator a few days ago. Doesn't even care that Dolph calls him Ralf Mueller instead of Ralf Moeller. ;-)
