Yeah...this promo picture looks good here (something is missing - some other characters behind him maybe - but is OK)...but damn...how I "do not like" this picture!! Its really a shame that he is out of focus on that picture, and its a really, really big shame that he has different hair style!! I'm looking in that picture and I have feeling like its from The Mechanic...or maybe Missionary Man.
And I dunno...I kind of don't like the idea of him aiming a gun toward the audience because almost every DVD/DTV cover today has that concept (or main character is just holding a gun)...just see Seagals movie's in last 10 years...always the same thing...he is holding a gun and aiming somewhere...and same goes for Snipes...even JC (The Shepherd, The Hard Corps, Wake of Death, The Order...etc.)
So I dunno...I would not chose this picture for the poster... my No1. picture is still the first image that I use...I like that one really much :)

I agree with you and usually hate the idea but it fits the rock spirit of the project perfectly. The first image you used is just a typical Dolph photo where his look is kinda intriguing but at the same time his eyes and expression can be meaning anything and nothing in particular...

No Dolphage,
not "gods". GOD demands exclusive worship, and there is only ONE GOD, ONE JESUS who came to prove it to us, and one Virgin MARY, who is the luckiest girl on planet earth :D .

I see. Please don't suicidebomb me. I'm too pretty to die.

Anyway, I hope that Command Performance will be released in full widescreen. There are no crazy plans to pan and scan it, are there?

1/ It's 2009 now so we can expect not.
2/ the movie is in cinemascope 2.35 aspect ratio so there better not be!

Perfect, I was really just trying to change the subject away from religion back to Command Performance, but that's good news.

I quite like the way the movie looks in the trailer. It's different.

a few weeks ago, i began creating a press file (for practice and for fun). but i ran out of time, and had some other things to do, to there's just 3 pages, and they are not what a press book should really look like

Hi, I'm back. ;-) After reading everything here I'd like to say that I love both preacher's and Dragonrage's suggestions. The only think I would change about preacher's mock-up is the font. The rest is just perfect, I love Dolph's picture and the fact that he points the gun at the audience (very cheesy and very good). And I don't care if the bad guy looks to the left or the right. ;-) As long as he doesn't look at the audience, too, because that's what Dolph does here.

Of all of Dragonrage's mock-ups I like this one best:

Image

I like that Dolph image better than the official one used in the later suggestions. The only things I would change:
- erase the drum kits next to the main headline
- don't "stick" that girl to his backhead, rather move it away a bit (maybe in the center of the flames?)

I don't like any of the first four mock-ups. The last one is the one I'd take if I had to choose one. But I'd go with preacher's design.

Mosquito,
forgive me, but i have to disagree with you about loving the fact that Dolph points the gun at the audience. i didn't even notice it (b/c i'm too busy admiring his physical features - pardon me), but i thought it was a sensitive and good point - what Jox said: "he doesn't like the idea of him aiming a gun toward the audience".
i agree with Jox's observation, although it doesn't bother me one bit, perhaps some will perceive him as a ruthless, gun-loving, killer. in all his movies, i have ever seen, Dolph is very careful not to unnecessarily point guns at people's faces. i think Dolph comes across as a bigger hero, when he's more reserved when it comes to pointing weapons at the the general audience.
my comment for the day if i may :?: : :D i have to agree with Jox.

Generally yes but you missed my point, I usually don't like it, but it fits the movie and character perfectly in this case (CP)...
