I hope, and I mean I really hope, that there is no final art yet and First Look just wanted to have something up on their site. Please let that be the case.

Thankfully the release is still 3 months away so there is room for change.

It won't change. We've been down this road before.

Yeah...Im thinking in the same way...we will see...I'm still hoping that this is just something that they put to fill out the blank spot on their site. Because, I mean...if they will use this cover...that is going to be ever worse then Direct Contact... :?

If there's one thing that annoys me the most about that dvd cover, it's the tagline: "This show could be deadly." What the hell is up with that?! It's the most pointless tagline in history of Dolph movies--did they even talk to Dolph about the cover at all? They may as well have used a quote taken straight from the movie like "Hello, Mr. President" or "It's jammed!" or some other poop. Suddenly I wish this really did go to theaters...
"I come in peace!"
"But you go in pieces, a**hole!"

The Big Guy's gotta put his foot down! The cover CANNOT look like that! Do they WANT this film to fail?

The worst part is how we've gotten all excited with great cover ideas from our own members. By, comparison, this cover looks like five year old made it in MS Paint, using his elbows to work the keyboard... in the dark.
Spring, era jävlar!

Of course not and probably didn't even care to talk about it at all. It's obvious whether it's this or another one that they don't even consider the concept or potential of the movie. Did you see the CODE (Morgan Freeman/Antonio Banderas) cover?! I mean it had to be a bigger budget and it had bigger stars and yet they still gave it the worst treatment (OMG the title)...

i don't understand what the big deal is. that cover looks good too. with the fire, Dolph on top, the city night lights on the bottom. unless there is politics and $$ involved it's what's inside the cover that matters and not so much the cover.
the DVD could be sold wrapped in poo and i'll still buy it (well i wouldn't go that far), but i don't think the cover makes the movie at all.
it works for me (it's much better than poo as far as i can see) :o.

The big deal is:

1/ this artwork uses an image from DIRECT CONTACT and was made a year and half ago before the movie was even filmed

2/ it's very generic and doesn't look any different from any other Dolph or DTV action movie whereas CP obviously relies on a little more original concept that offers lots of possibilities and ways to market it (it also has more potential commercially)

3/ since they didn't bother making anything new it's obvious they don't even care to sell this more than they will and don't care about their audience either

4/ of course the cover doesn't make the movie, but a lot of people still buy or rent a movie depending on the cover only and unlike you they certainly wouldn't buy it wrapped in poo

5/ bottom line we have a Dolph movie that has lots of potential here, Dolph and I worked to build a little buzz for it and this flick could really do some damage commercially which would be a great thing for us and for Dolph (so when they play solo and announce the film with this lazy cover it's like giving us the finger to us all). Anyway now D is aware of it...

Also, since it's a DTV movie it isn't going to get any advertising. Yeah, trailers will be online but the "casual" viewer isn't going to see those. The cover essentially is the advertising. That's what people will see first when they are browsing the video store or looking at what's new on Netflix.

He didn't show, but now I'd rather not say anything until the case is closed.

Yeah, like it's been said: There are some great suggestions here and we're all very excited about it. But it seems that they don't care *at all*. They don't even bother to pick up the good things we throw at them. Basterds.
