Dolph looks so awesome in this role, i'm so glad Dolph accepted this role, Dolph's role is small but i hope they will put some flashbacks of Dolph also, plus with the comentary, it would make me a very happy fan
I like Dolph's quote in the trailer and the orange light when it shines in Dolph, it looks amazing
And hope Dolph's role got beefed up enough that he could make something out of it.
It looks like JC is doing the "numb-with-sadness" thing that he does these days and Arlovski is doing the robotic killing machine, so DL might be one of few people who get to ACT a little bit in the movie.
Has there been any indication whether the commentary will be Hyams and Lundgren together through the whole film or will it be Hyams solo until Lundgren's scenes? Hopefully it's the former.
From the looks of the Q&A at Fantastic Fest, it seems like Dolph and Hyams will be doing it together. Their banter and overall demeanor seemed very friendly.
As far as Van Damme goes, I'm glad someone else mentioned it... Is it just me, or does he look extremely tired in the trailer? Granted, I know the trailer is barely a minute and a half in length, but man, do I hope he puts a little effort in the film as opposed to what we've seen thus far... He has this look on his face, like "why am I even doing this? Oh well, it's a paycheck..." Let's hope this isn't the case come February...
Well the circumstances that got him to be in the movie in the first place weren't quite ideal. I'm sure in his head he was thinking he just came off showing how he can actually act in JCVD and then went on to direct what he probably believes is a very "deep" film in THE EAGLE PATH. So to find himself back in Bulgaria running around with body armor on may not have been what he was hoping for in terms of his career post-JCVD.
On the flip side his character should be a bit beaten down and haggard, especially after his adventures in the first 2 films. I'm thinking his character in US3 will be a bit like Kurt Russell's character in SOLDIER. I can accept that, especially if the action is fairly brutal. But I agree that it would be nice to see Van Damme play he role where he isn't so mopey.
Van Damme used to be so cheerful and full of life when he was young. I was just watching the several appearances he did on Arsenio.
Now he seems like he is always depressed and not really with it. He seems like his english got worse somehow. He speaks almost the same way Scott Weiland speaks now.
I think JC is just going with the role he is suppose to play, a revived dead soldier with no emotions, US2 JC was full of life and having fun in the movie but that did not go so well, i don't want any stupid comedy with the movie like US2, i want to see a serious and realistic action movie.
Indeed it's an awesome trailer, but having two well known top action stars and two MMA fighters and two good directors like the Hyams, it's going to create alot of buzz.
I find myself watching the trailer over and over again.
That is just one well made trailer. The editing, the voice-over and the music is just great. It totally sells me this kinda cheesy concept. And Dolph is just badass all over. At 1:07 there is this short clip with Dolph throwing a punch and he's got this cold intensity in his eyes. I love it when he does that. Really imposing.
Sure Andrei looks kinda wooden but i like the way he moves. And that crazy scientist-guy who says "you where very good today" seems over the top in a good way. Looking forward to this even is it has got limited amount of Dolph.
Dolph does a partly new accent in all his recent movies. In this trailer it's: "We've been over this all befoah" in Direct Contact it was :"Get in the cah". Is he going for a little Massachusetts flavor or (more likely) New York?
That's the problem with cloning super soldiers, if you don't get it just right the clone will have a different accent than the original.
DL looks cool though, he's gonna steal the show again.
