Dolph also arrived a few years too late, after Stallone and Arnold so there was less need for another one and he didn't bring anything specific to him like Van Damme and Seagal both did. So Dolph was in between and if anything he played more ambiguous, less heroic roles that didn't call for public cheering.

I think Masters Of The Universe & Punisher were heroic roles that required public cheering...

Punisher? a psycho sleepless vigilante who talks to god in the sewers and doesn't know if he lives to avenge or avenge to live?! Frank Castle personifies the definition of the antihero and would have suited better the 70s to be accepted (much like Travis Brickle and the likes).

The Punisher is not as popular as, spiderman, Hulk, X-men, Fantastic Four and many more super heroes and he-man i think at the time it's popularity was decreasing among youngters also.

I don't know if it's true but at the time the presskit said it was the best selling comics after Batman but that's another story.

Has Nu Image booked Arnold for a cameo? Are they bullshitting the political authorities or has the Bulgarian press not understood well?

Meanwhile a Danish newspaper revealed that his buddy Sven Ole Thorsen did a screen test instead of attending the Copenhague summit.

They still can't decide on who's gonna be Conan and on this is depending whether Dolph gets a part or not (Lundgren auditioned and was the first actor the director have met with). Also the big boys at Nu Image seem close to a cat fight...

Don't know any of those two guys to be honest. Someone said Lundgren should be Conan on those comments at that link. Unless I'm mistaken they've been trying to get this Conan project of the ground for a couple of years now. It would be cool to see Dolph in it though.

Yeah Nu Image was so proud to buy the rights for it, it was before THE EXPENDABLES was announced and was supposed to be their first big movie franchise with an $80 million budget. To be honest apart from Dolph being in it, it doesn't sound very appealing so far but I could live with it if it can serve D's career.

Not official yet but according to Latinoreview Conan has finally been chosen in Jason Momoa, but it's not all, they also report Mickey Rourke has been offered the part of Conan's dad which Dolph was running for...

Mickey Rourke for play Conan's dad, I think it's a bad idea,.. the body and the face of Dolph would be more appropriate. It's a bad news for the Dolph's career, an opportunity lost to continue his appearance in theatre after THE EXPENDABLES :(

Doesn't seem signed or confirmed yet though and there could be a villain part for him too... let's see. (otherwise it doesn't seem too much of a waste given the choices made for this production so far)

I reckon they'll still offer DL a role in this as villain. The guy they've cast as Conan, wouldn't match up with Dolph. It wouldn't really look right. There's a couple of Villain roles that'd suit Dolph well. Not necassarily the main villain, but who knows?

If Rourke is indeed in the film, then I'd love for Dolph to be on this even more than before.
