this whole time i thought "Dolph in CONAN" meant "late night talk show with host Conan O'brien"; i am just now realizing "DOLPH in CONAN" means, maybe a movie with Arnold Schwarzennegger (i hope i spelled his name right). i always thought that would be a good idea, but as an only fan of DOLPH and no one else, i wouldn't have said anything. i watched many Scwarzennegger movies, i liked Arnold, especially during his bodybuilding days in the "Muscle & Fitness" magazine with Joe Weider and wife, but as soon as i discovered blond Dolph, all other actors were somehow forgotten along the way.
Any way i think a CONAN movie with Dolph and Arnold would be great :D .

FYI Dolph was on Conan O'Brien's a couple of months ago (see here).

And this new CONAN movie is a reboot or a remake if you will, WITHOUT Arnold Schwarzenegger. That said we're not sure Dolph will be in it after all, so wait and see

For a movie that's supposedly only 3 weeks away from filming there hasn't really been many casting announcements at all. Other than the main role and some kid who will play the young Conan there hasn't been anything firm. There was the Mickey Rourke rumor in which he'd play Conan's father but that hasn't been confirmed.

Wonder if that's why Lundgren hasn't started production on one of his other projects yet (mainly SKIN TRADE or WANTED MAN)? Maybe he's still up for a role in this and has to keep his schedule open just in case?

I know he was supposed to meet with the producers or director to find out. Next will be SKIN TRADE but it hasn't entered officially pre-production yet.

Well now that Mickey Rourke has been confirmed for the role of Conans father - http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=63613 - it shouldn't be long before the rest of the cast is announced, which hopefully Dolph will be a part of. I'm not sure if this will be a good movie or not, especially since the director, Marcus Nispel, has never made one before, but I will try to remain positive because I liked the first Conan (the one with Arnold) and consider myself a modest fan of the Conan-mythology. Plus, Dolph getting to act in "bigger" films can only be a good thing, career-wise atleast, if he is indeed cast.

He's made a couple of movies. Some horror flicks and, probably more helpful as far as directing Conan goes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pathfinder_%282007_film%29

Haven't seen any of his work myself and I am also a little skeptical, but let's hope for the best.

I think I screwed up that sentence, my mistake, what I meant was: He has never made a good movie before, IMO. Although Pathfinder had some interesting visuals that could be match up pretty well with a Conan-movie, if the script is any good. So yeah, let's hope for the best! :)

That was a seriously sucky movie. Somehow he made a film starring Clancy Brown and Vikings dull which is surely worthy of some sort of award.

Don't bother watching it - you'll never get those two hours back.

As no one has made a good Viking movie in the last 40 years, it really is time for the Big Guy to go back to his roots.

Yeah I know Dolph HAS to make a viking movie! I'm sure he's already thought about it, notably an adaptation of his favorite book "Red Orm" a.K.a. "The Long Ships"...

A viking movie with Dolph would be ... well, I'm trying to find a synonym for "awesome", but I give up. Mel Gibson is apparently planning on shooting a viking epic sometime soon, he should give Dolph a part in it. Or, Dolph could make one himself, perhaps here in Sweden, shouldn't be too hard getting the financing, now that he's pretty much a media sensation over here. :)

That's because there is no word in any language (except quite possibly the original Norse) to begin to suggest how awesome it would be.

There's a chance that 'Valhalla Rising' out this year with 'Casino Royale''s Mads Mikkelsen (a Viking movie starring a Dane no less) might break the curse:

Vikings? Check. Swords and other sundry sharp edges? Check. Long ship? Check. Enough gore to paint your living room? Possibly.

Thats true, only by studying old Norse could such a word be discovered.

Oh, Vallhalla Rising, forgot about that one, looks really good, and surprisingly dark. The gore seems to be at a  level. And Mads MIkkelsen is a terrific actor, glad his in it, lends the film alot of credibility.

Ok so it seems that CONAN is getting further and further away from Dolph... maybe for the best?
