ICARUS has just been rated 15 in Finland, it should be released soon in Scandinavia by Sandrew Metronome.

Good news HMH, the German distributor, is telling me that they are "improving the image quality". I hope this means they will correct the aspect ratio...

For those intererested, the main title song is "Smoking Gun" by the band Fall Of Envy.

I had heard the the opening song was a good rock song and off the back of CP I was wondering if Dolph had had any involvement with the song (playing the drums in it)

Sorry if not clear.

I have to check but even if this is the kind of song that would have fit CP perfectly, I have a feeling Dolph actually doesn't have anything to do with it, but the producers do. Given the movie that D set out to do, my git feeling is I don't think this is what he had in mind and would have more likely featured an atmospheric music in the vein of the actual score.

I have watched Icarus yesterday and unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. Maybe it's my strong opposition against shaky cams and hectic cuts but those can ruin a whole movie for me. And boy was this cam shaky and - during fights - the cuts where hectic. I was reminded of Batman Begins and the last Bond movie where I had no clue what was going on during some of the fights. "Whose hand is that?" - "Whose chin was just hit?" Something like that. Dolph is an excellent fighter and there was no need to hide a lack of talent behind cuts that obscure everything. During all action scenes and some of the quiet scenes I kept thinking "FOR CRISSAKES GET A STEADYCAM AND FIRE THAT CUTTER!!!"

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Also, is it natural that a mother who doesn't know where here child is, just survived a shootout and finds out that her husband is a murderous lunatic, just stops worrying about the kid and wants sex with that stranger she used to think of as her (ex-) husband? And why did that domina wait with that killing attempt? There where plenty of better opportunities before.

I don't know. I really liked Command Performance, and a lot of people seem to like Icarus even better, right? I guess tastes vary. Sloppy writers, highly annoying shaky cam and unnecessary cuts. Oh and the violence? Gee, I dunno. The blood spray seemed forced from time to time. The stunt with the barbell in front of the kid and the nanny wasn't cool.

I liked his tie, though. And yes, Dolph looks good in a suit.
