I'm sure they will ramp up the marketing, starting in July, as they usually kick off only a month or so in advance with these big-budget films.
They seem to be basing their promotion on the hype surrounding the cast plus nostalgia, which is the way to go IMO, and I'm glad that they took the "risk" of allowing an "R"-rating, which can only be a good thing when it comes to movies like these. Financially, I believe it's a blessing that the Expendables is more of an action-comedy-adventure, since the serious "R"-rated thrillers doesn't seem be to doing that well at the box office (unfortunately). However, I agree that the final poster is too bright and looks a bit empty, needs either more dark or brown colours and perhaps the skull-with-a-thousand-weapons. Also, that teaser-trailer should have been released before the actual trailer, and the order of the credited cast rearranged, but still, nothing major to worry about.
I think The Expendables will do really well, considering the genre, as long as it delivers what it promises, which it should, if there's a God.

If I were a guessing man, I would say that it opens to $30-35 million, and should break $100 million. In the U.S that is, could be equal or bigger overseas. Inglourious Basterds-numbers, kinda. That's the dream, anyway.
